I would personally not bother with the VQ30 heads.....you can easily get the same amount out of the VQ35 ones without having to buy a new set. Plus you can keep the VTTS

I think an NA upgrade will not be that hard to manage. Seems to me that the stock fuel pump and injectors are not going to be able to flow enough fuel, so upgraded injectors and a fuel pump (maybe the new Nismo unit can work with the stock FRP to avoid having declining FP as RPMs increase) along with simple reflashing of the ECU to manage the new injectors. I'm hoping it's as simple this, would help keep reliability given it would be more of bolt on replacement type of situation.
I'm pondering the pros and cons of a 11.0 or 11.5 CR build, although I have access to about 94-95 octane rating fuel (US measurement) and could safely handle feeding a 11.5 CR engine, wondering how big of impact a 11.5CR build will have since I want to keep my Z as "daily driver" type of car. Waiting for the opportunity to meet up with someone that has done the esprit 11.5 CR package upgrade here in Japan, should provide me some benchmark.

Which would be better on an auto tranny? A turbo kit or a stroker kit? I've read several threads stating that a supercharger or turbo charger will prohibit WOT in auto mode. You would have to use the manualmatic mode instead. I'm a lazy guy so I was wondering if the stroker kit would work with the D mode better.

Of course everyone would love something like this, but this is more than just some bolt-on intake. Stuff's gonna not work and things are going to break. If you have the cash, please make this combo happen and post results.

Got block??? hehe I think I'm one of those 'special 4' people!
Someone buy this and test it out so I can decide if I need to get another job or start trying to sell my body....
Good luck with that block!

In terms of engine management. I bet a technician with a consul II could get the car running. My guess is a full ECU reflash would need to be done to get a baseline reliable car.
At that point, you can decide which way to go...F/I...more reflashing, emanage, stand-alone...whatever.

not sure if this has been discussed yer but i dont think the stock heads could flow well enough for an n/a 4.3 liter. would a p & p job be enough or should a brand new head be part of the cost of this kit?

I don't think is something anyone here can answer....this is where a good engine builder (or AEBS) would be an invaluable resource, both in terms of the assebly of this kit, plus telling you what else is truly needed or not needed.

ya thats what i figured. i cant believe it took me this long to think of it d'uh the head flows well at 3.5l but add another .8l to the mix and the topend might sucka$$, who cares if it can rev to 8k rpms if it only makes good tq up to 5k rpms

I live in San Diego and had a talk with Ben about this kit. This kit is not made for daily driving. It is made to race on the dragstrip. AEBS builds cars like this all the time. The reason why they can test 55psi on a Honda block is because its that stable. Who else can do this? The bottom end is bomb proof like they state in there Honda advertisements, and they really mean it. Knowing that they have this kit out, they could easily swap out pistons to change compression to make it more or a daily driver. If you would want to talk to anyone from AEBS, talk to Ben, Paulis, or Roger. There is another young american fellow that works there, he's not the brightest guy in the world, lets just say that. He's the one that looks like a run down surfer. I think he's the new chimp around the shop.

4.3 liters should be able to make huge amounts of torque through the power band. Even at 8000 rpm. Other componets would restrict airflow revving that high. The VQ in the 350z is not meant to rev that high. You would have to upgrade the valvetrain besides the AEBS stroker kit. Port and Polish intake manifold, and heads, plus a bigger throttlebody would help reving to 8000 rpm.
