To those of you with the 6MT swap and auto ecu with the u1000 code, does your cruise control work (provided you have cruise)? The only thing I see in this thread referring to cruise control is the NPS, but on this z I get a cruise error causing the "set" light to flash. The NPS is working, confirmed by the idle up when put into gear. If U1000 does in fact prevent cruise from functioning, has anyone successfully turned off the U1000 code with Osiris and regained cruise functionality?

Just for background, this one is a 2005 using the MT EFI harness (engine, trans, and harness all came from a 2005 non revup as well) and auto ecu. Reverse lights do not function; is this the case for others using the MT EFI harness? I'd like to know before I troubleshoot the body harness any deeper. I appreciate any valid information.

Check to make sure the speed sensor is plugged into the transmission. You said your Reverse lights aren't working; this lines up with not having your speed sensor hooked up. Then try the cruise control.

That being said, I think you'll still need the flash for cruise control. That (from what I understand) is needed for cruise control on a manual w/ auto ecu.

My question is concerning the CD009 tranny belhousing. I was told this wouldn't fit the vq35de. That the housing is bigger and only fits the Rev-Up HR and 370Z engine....? Could anyone confirm this ??
Do more research.
The cd009 comes in a separate version for VQ35HR and VQ35DE engines. That's all I'll tell you as there are tons of posts about those transmissions.

So I've got the CD009 tranny and all other needed parts. Waiting on the twin plate clutch but am wondering if anyone tried to tackle the wiring to convert the A/T EFI to fit the M/T speed and reverse sensors. Can't imagine all are running without reverse light right ??

Can anyone tell me if I can rewire the 5at harness on a convertible, or do I need a complete harness from a 6mt convt.? Btw I'm doing a LS/t56 swap..I'm not concerned with cruise, shift lights, or reverse lights but I do want normal convt top operations. Thanks

Default Added info

Hi i just did the swap on my 03 350z and i had a few
problems that didn't line up with this thread. So here is what was different.

No.1 pilot bushing
Nobody talks about the automatic torque converter bushing and that the manual
bushing is gonna be a bit bigger in diameter then the inner diameter of the auto
Bushing (it is massive steel and not brass compound).
What i did was sand the bushing down in order to make if fit tight in there.
Some say you gotta take that auto bushing out and then you can put the
Manual bushing in. Im not sure if that is true since it looked like the outer diameter of the auto bushing was way bigger than the manual one.

No.2 flywheel bolts
The auto ones didn't fit on the manual flywheel.
They were way shorter. (Pics attached)

No.3 IPDM Wiring
The wiring in the pics and in the description was different
It was not terminal 53 but terminal 43 and the ipdm looks quite different. The only thing that lined up was the wire color gray/red. (Pics attached)

I hope this helps all the 03 350z folks!

Cheers!

It seems like i can't upload more than one pic at a time. Gonna post them separately.

1: Can't comment as I had a new short block I married to my manual.
2: The automatic 'flywheel' is actually a flexplate. Different component, so no they don't interchange. I found that out the same way, but it's a quick call to your nissan dealer or courtasy parts. Cheap
3: Yeah totally different setup.

Soooo I just pulled my motor and transmission to do this swap... It will be easy except...

There is info on how to wire the clutch pedal safety switch, the NPS, but NONE on where to hook up the reverse light switch. Are there wires right there? Did they plug into the 5AT transmission? Thanks

You don't need the safety switch. The transmission/reverse thing you just need to lengthen the OEM one that goes to the automatic. It's a blue plug if I recall correctly.

Thanks resmarted. I have been running without any reverse lights lol. It's no big deal but next time I go under, I'll know exactly how to get them working.

That should also get you cruise control back

I really want cruise control and don't feel like half azzing this because I'll end up wasting an afternoon for one wire.

Instead of tapping into the Green/orange wire at the ECM for the NSS can you tap in where the AT P/NSS plugged into the harness and connect the MT NSS to two of those? Might save a few feet of wire and time routing them to the tranny.

im also trying to do the same. hopefully there is a tap for it under the car on the original 5at harness. I would rather not cut into the rubber grommet anymore just to run a cruise control wire.

What?

Theres a fawking plug on the OEM auto, that is identical to the plug on the manual. You just cut the factory wire in the middle somewhere and extend it.

I don't even know what you guys are on about
