Are you worried about shifter location?

We will make it work. I'm waiting for the head gasket, studs, injectors and cam gears so we can finish the engine before we start to drop it in. Its easier this way.

Pics of the exhaust manifold and couple of old pics of my gauges setup.

I'm glad you guys are keeping on. I just got my Haltech pnp. I also got my ac compressor. Also ordered a chargespeed rear with the cf diffuser. I'm trying to decide on what front bumper to get. I want a urethane one. I'm between the ings +1 or nismo v2 what do you guys think.

Right now I'm saving up for my v160 tranny. I'm working about 60 hrs a week. I would like to have my car done for Z days next yr.

I'm also looking at cf doors, fenders, and I found a cf front bumper for 450 locally brand new so might have to jump on that.

While the car is sitting I'm doing brake swap. I picked up a jbt 6/4bbk so my akebonos will soon come up for sale. Sorry I haven't been keeping up on here but I've been busting trying to get this money ha

Small update.

We will change the HG and studs next week and start putting everthing together if the weather clears up. We had a big rain storm that lasted for two days. Water and mud everywhere.

We are using the VQ mounts. Its was tight, but it fits nice.

Finally, the last part for the build arrived.

The car should be running next week. I'm still trying to find a good AEM v2 basemap that is close to my setup just to get the car running and driving to some shops to fix/replace some stuff before I get it dyno tuned.

I'm still not sure if I will tune it on race gas. The VQ terrorized me forever. lol

2+ years waiting should end soon.

I'm in the middle of my 2jz swap using my stock tranny with the Collins adapter and flywheel spacer and was wondering if anyone know how many inches to shorten the shifter bracket

I think you will want to shorten the shifter bracket as much as you can.

The 2JZ is a long engine.

What did you do with the fuel line if you got the far since the 350z has no return fuel system?

I have the return fuel line from my GTM RFS. I kept the return and sold the rest. Also I'm making my own feed lines and bought the AEM regulator and Titan fuel rail.

Thanks man so I got the motor in today but I can't seem to get the tranny mounted the spline won't go in lol for some reason I used the clutch align tool so I know that's not the issue.

We changed the HG and installed ARP head studs, BC cam gears, Gates belt, intake manifold, injectors and fuel rail and will drop the engine in using the VQ engine mounts after we clean it up. Will take pics after the clean up.

Sweet I'm definitely considering going this route as I was thinking about it 2 years ago in my s14

Small update:

Everytime we fix something we find another thing that need to be fixed. Now I'm 99.9% sure that we fixed everything and we will be dropping the engine in tomorrow
