Apparently, the Haltech is a no go for my setup since I have a 2008 Z. Even though Haltech said they will make a HR/VHR Pro Plugin version but I don't see that happing any time soon since they said that when the old EMS came out and never delivered.

I sent them an email to check and they said maybe in the next 12months which means by Haltech standers, never.

I recontacted the shop in the UK about the Syvecs S6 and it looks like it's my only option for now.

Syvecs S6 was my first choice, but I thought about the Haltech because its easier to tune.

Syvecs will give me way more options than the Haltech. One of them is ability to change maps/boost lvl through the steering wheel buttons.

Wow. That does suck. I finally got my engine on the engine stand. And now I'm looking for a v160. If you guys come across a good deal let me know

I'm glad that dynosty is going to be able to make these custom haltech for us bc that's going to save alot of time and stress through the wiring. Also graffkid did you figure anything out about the motor mounts.

Is anyone using the v160 with the stock engine mount

Idk about the stock 2jz/supra mounts. I mentioned it to my engineer but he is very busy. It's not on the top of his list right now. Stuff for my Z is being pushed off as well.

V160 is about as the same tall as the OEM trans.

Why not use the w58 or the r154?

Also if you need any 2jz specific stuff just pm me.

I have a connection for all that difficult to get oem stuff.

We also have a Toyota master 2jz tech who can wire vvti into anything so lets say you hit limp mode or any issues, just ask me so I can relay it to my tech.

pm me, email @ 9kjoey@gmail.com, or call 626 - 227 - 4255.

Questions are cool and accepted. As long as we can throw a hand to your build if you hit a road bump.

Good job so far, keep it up.

I'm using the none VVTi 2jzgte. I sold the VVTi engine.

Thanks for the offer.

The things I still need to get are:

1-1000cc injectors.
2- head gasket and ARP studs.
3- 3 BAR MAP sensor.

Dynosty should replay to me with prices but they never get back to me. I can get them form different shops but i like to support our forum sponsors.

Today start working on the trans and fabricating the adaptor.

Also my friend made the tacho work in a Z with LS1 swapped engine. He just changed the needle motor with a small motor. Looks and works like OEM.

Only if ChaseBays would make their chassis sub-harness work with the factory 2JZGTE harness then it would be so much easier to swap the 2JZGTE in the 350Z.

Contact Dr Tweak for harness. And head gasket, why not run OEM? Just get the full gasket/seal kit

I have the chase bays harness sitting right in front of me. Not as plug n play as they say tho. But vary helpful and fast to respond to questions.

I'm thinking about getting the OEM gasket kit.

Also thinking about removing the Toyota igniter and coils and install smart coils. Either from the 1UZ-FE VVTI or try to use the VQ35 ones.

You need to send them couple of the VQ plugs to make PNP.

OEM coil packs are more than proven though. Why risk spending more $$ and headaches?

They are 15-20 years old and my engine didn't come with the igniter. Also some people experience bad idle and misfires at high boost level.

I can pick the 1UZ ones from the scrapyard for dirt cheap.

I will try to make the VQ35 work. Someone did it but can't find pics or a thread about his build.

Ya I did but still have to wire up fuel pump, fans,ac among other things. The two plugs I sent them all they did was wire in 3 wires. I bet it's just ground n power wires. Basically a universal harness. Not to happy about it but since I did not get a harness with my motor oh well.

That would cost more than $1000.

The best choice for ignition IMHO is LS2 Truck coil near plug.

I have a friend who was running an HKS DLI in his 2j supra and the thing would still break up from time to time under heavier boost. Wired in those LS2 coils in an afternoon and made a noticeable improvement on both idle and in boost. (Should be noted that he had a GE motor).
