Most three wires coils on plug should work if you're running a stand alone.

P.S. the adaptor plate is almost finished.

like resmarted was saying though ls2 truck coils are pretty insane power output wise, pretty much put out more voltage energy then any other coil you can buy even with an amplifier plus the truck ones have built in heat sinks allowing you to run more dwell

Hey guys. Just got done talking with josh at nsn garage In PA and he was very nice and knowledgeable about this swap. They have some really bad *** engine brackets custom made to work with our subframe since if you want to do any organized racing you can't have a modified subframe.

The mounts run about 300 but that's with everything and powder coated black. I have to do some measurements today and see if that would let me keep the cd009 tranny in the same location and not have to get a new driveshaft made.

Also with the Collins adapter and the throwout bearing spacer and the custom flywheel can I use any 350z clutch twin or triple???

You will need a custom ds no matter what.if you we're to keep the trans in the same place as stock bolted to a 2jz which is a inline 6 cylinder.your engine would be sitting right where the rebar would be.

I'm using the 350Z transmission. 2JZGTE Fidanza flywheel and VQ clutch. Easiest/cheaper method IMO.

Finished bolting it up to the engine and will start dropping the engine in the car later this week. Couldn't take pics since my phone battery died on me.

To clear things up.

I'm using:

1- 2JZGTE NON VVTI.
2- 350Z transmission.
3- Southbend VQ35 clutch.
4- Fidanza 2JZGTE Flywheel
5- We made our own adaptor plate.
6- Will make our own engine and transmission mounts.

So let me get this straight. So with the 2j fidanza flywheel. We can use a regular 350z clutch????

I was saving up for a getrag but if this is cheaper ill run with it now and see what happens later.

Midz. Interested in selling one of those adapter plates and mount sets???

The 2JZGTE and VQ35 use the same size flywheel. You just need to take it to the machine shop and get them make new holes for the VQ clutch to bolt on and balance it.

I don't think you can use my adaptor plate since I'm using the transmission of a VQ35HR engine which has different bellhousing than the DE.

Also I live across the world from you so shipping would be $$$ for you.

The R154 ratio is way to long, can't handle power, clunky and loud. And already have the 350Z transmission.

Also where I live, they sell them for around $1500 whim is stupidly expensive.

No way dude. Maybe a fully built R154. It is widely known in the supra world that stock R154's should be kept to around 500! Maybe they dyno'd @ 800 with a R154 but on the street banging gears? No way... Now V160's are another story

you must be doing something really screwed up then because your pretty much the only one. sound performance ran over 1200 hp through a bone stock 2004 tranny and didnt break it until they put 28 inch slicks on, then swapped to a cd009 and had absolutely no issues. countless people run high power levels with absolutely no issues. my guess is your just bad at driving stick and would break even a enco 2500 hp tranny.
