Just received the Hoke Shifter Relocation Mount and should pick up the Collins adaptor later today.

Made from billet 6061 and the finish is amazing. Thanks for Austin and his outstanding business.

Will install above + AC + cams and springs later this month at a different shop.

This kit will keep the reverse lockout feature.

Some pics of the car ready to be picked up

I need a bigger FMIC!

The wheels fit nicely. 19"×10" +15 Fronts 19"×11" +15 Rears wrapped in ContiSportContact

Filter installed.

Just sent the car to the other shop to install the Collins adaptor, Hoke shifter relocation kit, Titan 272 cams + BC titanium springs, A/C, change the TB since this one isn't closing fully. I might even let them tune it on the dyno.

Still not sure how to get the OEM water temp gauge to work sine I removed the engine harness completely!! I don't want to run an after market one.

A shop in a different city that I should have went to from the beginning. It would be probably finished almost 20 months ago. They install 2jz/RB into everything.

Man don't feel bad. Shizz happens. I had similar issues with a few shops in the past. In the end almost all cut corners and or just stop giving a eff when they run into little issues that require thinking or just a little research. Once I removed the twins myself I started notice this myself first hand. Kinked wastegate lines, loose sway bars, missing motor mount bolts etc... Felt violated to be honest LMAO!

The engine and tranny are out and they sent the head to the machine shop to install the springs and cams.

This shop is in a different city than where I live and too busy to visit them.

They will do everything that is not finished yet and install the AC.

Just my luck, this thing rarely happen to the timing gear in the 2JZ and mostly happens at high power/RPM situations.

So we weld it like Titan do:

Also found most of the rod bolts were loose, so ordered new rod bearings and will tighten them back to spec.

I thought about going full build, but at this point Im done spending on this car and I just want to drive it at 500-600whp level.

Will do full overhaul. New bearings, gaskets, oil pump, piston rings, valve stem seals..etc.

The arp rod bolts would be useless with OEM rods IMO.

Oh if you're taking it all out you're fine. Some people like them so they have more insurance when revving higher, but if you get NEW toyota ones you'll be set.

I personally would just figure out the perfect ring clearances for the power level you want. I know 2jz's are fine stock block, but might as well do it right. Could be oem clearances, or might be just a bit bigger than oem.

The never ending project.

The crank and block need machining, so fwk it. Im going to build the short block.

Found a good deal for about $1900. Manley Rods, JE pistons, ARP head and main studs, timing belt, and bearings.

My buddy bought a built block from someone online for a great price. That 2j **** it's self shortly after.

Didn't you have problems with your built vq35's? I'd be really weary.

Personally I'd probably go for a factory toyota new short block. They're about 3 grand. Titan sells them I believe. They're actually from toyota.

$2600, you'll pay a ton for shipping, but it's from toyota.

This guy is known builder here and guaranteed it. He will start the engine after installation and test run it and offered to tune it for free just to make sure it's running flawlessly.

Here, they build 2JZ/RB engines in their sleeps.
