Paul, could you let us know if it shines as bright as the incandescent bulbs? It looks almost dimmer in the pics.

T10-PCB-W24 White LED Lamp looks like it would kick butt as the trunk light. I measured the opening and it fits if your remove the plastic cover and make a custom cover somehow....

Also guys check out http://superlumination.com/

They have some really cheap xenon bulbs if you're not satisfied with the led's light output.

For those looking to change out the taillights for LED's, I saw a post this morning that mightg interest you. It is for the 06 ZR taillights, which happen to be LED

I just made my order:

PRODUCT INFORMATION--

Quantity: 2
Product: 7440-15 LED bulb $ 6.99 (each)
Options: White 2.00

Quantity: 4
Product: WLED 6-LED bulb $ 2.99 (each)
Options: White 0.65

Quantity: 1
Product: WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED bulb $ 2.79 (each)
Options: White 1.50

Quantity: 2
Product: WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED bulb $ 2.79 (each)
Options: Red

I replaced the 6 LED reds for the rear parking lights with 5 led Wide Angles b/c I think it will light up the tail lamp better since the light isn't as focused. I will take pics once they're in.

I also bought 1 white 5 wide led for my trunk light. =)

They are dimmer by about 50% but they look 50% cooler so it's a wash! It might be possible to squeeze larger bulbs in there - a little dremel action? - so that you could use the 9 LED lamps that are a bit longer.

Another possiblity is to use a flat array like the DIY-9 with a square circuit board with 9 LED's http://www.theledlight.com/led-clusters.html

I found a third source for auto LED bulbs at http://autolumination.com/ so I've got an order coming from them with some more bulbs. They make a 15 LED with some diodes set off to the sides to use more of the reflector in the turn signals.

Dimmer - yes but a more cooler light

With the over head lights on - tough to see on black leather.

With the door open to allow my blue footwell LEDs to come on:

I wanted the blue lights to go with the black car and contrast the orange dash lights. Doing the overhead lights in blue would be a bit too dark so the bluish white light they cast is great. I've got an LED flashlight (figures huh?) in the pocket along side the seat if I want to do any reading ... but with the navigation system it's not like I need a map.

Paul where did you get your footwell lighting? Was that the 65 jdm one or the 100 dollar jdm kit?

About the resistors on the turn signals...

Can I just get a regular 3ohm resistor from Radio Shack, and put one on each side? How is it installed? Parallel with the +/- or in line? Any pics or examples?

I bought a series of LED's from SuperBright - a four LED round cluster, a three LED 90 degree cluster and a six LED array for each foot well.

I'm going to have to put some steering diodes into the circuit as if I interconnect the left and right sides the key-in-the-ignition chime goes off if the passenger opens her door.

NO!

I really doubt that Radio Shack sell resistors big enough. 3 ohms is going to pass 4 amps of current or about 48 watts worth of power! Most of the resistors sold at my local Shack are 1/8, 1/4, with a few 1/2 watt ones. The 50 watt resistors have a nice heat sink and wire between the positive and negative lines of the front lights.

I've got a set of 3 ohm resistors coming as they supposely only have to go front or rear vice having to wire them up front and back side and side.

hehe, thanks for the warning... So the resistors on superbrightleds.com are worth the price? and since those are 6Ohm, I would need one for each led signal (4 total, right?)

I just had the resistors from superbrightleds.com installed on my LED turn signals (4) and they work perfect (no hyperflash).

Do you have to splice the factory wiring to hook up the resistors? I am unclear on superled's instructions.

Cool Thank you!

Here is a picture of how the overall headlight assembly just looks much nicer without the big yellow turnsignal bulb. If you look closely you can also see the LED parking light.
Now for the rear shots, you should see how bright and white the license plate LED's are!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS COOL INFORMATION!!!!

would someone kind enough to show me how to install the resistor load kit mentioned above? do we need to purchase 4 of them for each of the turn signal? Thanks!!!

Here:

http://superlumination.com/equalizers.htm

Buy 2 of the 3ohm equalizers, you are going to use one on each side in the front, no need to get for the rear.

The equalizer has two cables, you are going to tap the turn signal with quick splitters, one side of the equalizer goes to one cable (ground), the other one to the other (power).
