what ever i do, it seems like you guys will not and wont believe me and thats fine. but im just being honest and being heckled for it. i hope that these types of situations dont happen to you guys.

have you found any other replica manufacturers that are better?

I remeber when SCC put a seibon lip on thier Project MR-Spyder and it looked pretty rough.

 

Now i wont buy a replica. Ill just buy the real deal from japan and not some cheap crap thats wastes more of your money. There are some really bad companys out there.

 

so why dont you make your own thread? Im pretty sure Jim didnt sell you that lip, so why are you posting your fantasy on a thread about him?

everyone else = Replica


The idea or an authentic parts being made by anyone other than Nissan makes my eyes bleed. Even if Nissan oversees the production it's still by definition a replica. I give a crap less of Top Secret originally made a hood with goofy vents in it. It's still an aftermarket part and is not by definition original to the car, nor is it by definition Authentic.


It's like fresh frozen, military intelligence, Ebay quality, it's a misnomer.

First of all, looking back on my thread, I must say I may have been a little fired up about the whole thing. I appologize if I offended anyone, I was blown away by the amount of people on here that just need to voice their opinion without contributing anything to the thred itself. Most of all thanks for those who supported me and I empathize for those going through simular situations with any vendor.

I have already won my case as the cc company has refunded my purchase price. The only thing left to do is show others what I was upset about and for Jim to pick up his hood.

Here we go... this shot is of the underside of the hood, you can see the extra effort the shop went trhough to get this sucker to fit. We put washers in and took washers out to adjust the fitment with no luck everything we tried made it worse somewhere else. You should not need washers to make a hood fit, first sign of poor fitment.

Authentic could mean an Amuse body kit. I don't think nissan produces these, do they? and they are not copies of stock body panels although they fit in the same position in most cases.

Ganador mirrors might go on a 350z but that does not make them replica parts, since they are not copies of the original design....

Your provided definition does not even support your assertions...

 

Alot of hoods actually come with spacers from the factory. they are flat peices of metal with two holes in them ( not the normal round washers) not that it matters. just saying. sorry.

This second shot shows the hood trying to be closed, number one it doesn't clear the factory strut bar so the shop took it out, still didn't latch. They played with the latching mechanism that holds the hood down and could not get the hood to close and stay latched.

The gap in the middle is about 1 1/2 inches and the sides, maybe 1/2 inch, how's that for straigh? Anyway... we had to push the hood down with our hand to get it to even look closed and when it looked ok, it rubed the bumper so bad it would eventually take paint off if left that way, not that we could get it to latch right anyway.

The other two pics show you the latching bar that was in the hood, now keep in mind this is molded into the hood and can not be adjusted. The hood is so far out of whack it left marks on the corner of the latch piece indicating that the hood needed to go farther back on the car, problem being the hood gaps would be way way off at that point. plus the back of the hood would be closer to the windshield then the quarter panels, making for some ugly lines.

Jim, You sell a LOT of CF Parts.. Have you ever thought of telling Seibon that you will refuse to sell any more of their parts if their Quality, Fit and Finish does not improve?

ok, you now have proof that your hood doesn't fit.

-P.S. i wouldn't let someone close my hood by pushing their flat hand down on it while wearing a ring.

 

I noticed you have an aftermarket bumper. do you have pictures of your stock hood on, before anyone calls bs on that. alot of aftermarket bumpers have that gap through the center (veilside, Do luck) alot of the time.

 

People have a gap on thier bumper because they don't put the rubber trim back on thier aftermarket hoods.

 

Now we get to the sides. When you moved the hood in any way the gaps where off big time. If we adjusted the left the right went way off and so on. Front to back and the hood looked terrible... it's hard to even explain but picture a square hood and your trying to put a diamond shaped hood on it. If you fix the front right the back left was off and vise versa... it's hard to see in a pic but the back gap was maybe 1/4 inch and the front 1/2 inch. I am not going to put this on my $35,000 car...

Keep in mind I had to pay 2-3hrs of labor to have this put on, adjusted, and taken off so an oem could go on... I don't get that money back..
