Default Issue with Fairlady Z Emblem

So our recent-ish [Arrived and installed Mar 28 from Courtesy Nissan] Fairlady Z emblem is turning gold for some reason. Has anyone seen anything like this before and know how to get it back to its original color?

What the emblem looks like now. It's a "bit" misaligned. It shifted around in the foam and it's hard to get anywhere near as straight as it would have been if it was in the foam right. The F is kinda gold and the Z is clearly gold colored.
What it looked like when it was first installed. Clearly a smooth silver like it should be. If you switch back and forth between the pictures you can clearly tell the other one's not the right color.

Edit: BTW, if it makes a difference we use Zip Wax Car Wash Concentrate for soap and DuPont Ion Car Polish for the wax.

I bought the "Z" hamburger badge from courtesy nissan and after a few months it looks gold almost instead of the silver like it should be. Pisses me off, that thing was like 50 bucks

So considering they want me to pay shipping AND a 25% "restocking charge" [wtf, you're going to sell that yellowed piece of crap?], does anyone know where I can buy a real OEM badge?
