Official Shorty Antenna Thread
Ah neat. That was my last car. I grabbed the antenna from the salvage yard when it was totaled.
Try that antenna on your Z, see if it suits your needs, & if not, don't worry about the S2000/ RDX antenna.

it does look like the s2k antenna. i'd say it's about the same height but the base doesn't taper out as much so i think it's a slightly cleaner look.
reception is great. maybe not as good as stock cause it is shorter, but i've heard tons of people say that their s2k antennas provide terrible reception at times. for me and my location at least, the element antenna is superb.

The Avenger antenna is 8" tall. It is just about the same as the S2K antenna (which I also have) but I like the base of the Avenger one better. Reception is just as good as stock.
Got mine about a year ago. Mangowalk 1.5" antenna. Reception is like OEM, can't tell the difference (believe it or not).

I forgot to mention how my reception is. I guess i have no problems, no complaints, but I listen to my ipod most of the time. I run an aftermarket hu, but i made sure that my antenna amplifier was tapped so its not too bad. Are the people complaining about poor reception have aftermarket hu made sure they have their antenna amplifier on?

Agency Power Antenna. Had it for a few weeks now and so far the reception is pretty good, kind of cuts out here and there depending on the area but other then that no complaints. I usually have my ipod/usb drive playing songs most of the time.
It has good signal reception. I don't normally use the radio. I have an Ipod hookup that goes through the radio but I receive good radio transmission. The antenna is just over 7"
$12 RDX antenna.
$12 RDX antenna.

Can someone pick up a dodge avenger antenna and ship it to me? I went to my local dodge dealer and they only had the ones with the rib cage around it...pm me. I also went to the honda dealer for an RDX antenna and it was $20

Looking to get a 3" shorty to replace my 6" Avenger ant.
My question is which of the 2 above is the better quality, specifically in reception and durability?
I tried one of those cheap little 1.5"ers and reception was next to nothing (compared to the 6" Dodge one which has been excellent). Looked great, but useless if I want to hear radio.
Thanks guys.

So is there any better shorty antenna? Or is it just bigger is better?
Cant believe this thread actually fixed my radio signal problem, came here looking to downsize the antenna since i thought i had no reception.... seems when i installed my aftermarket HU i left out the power antenna wire... for some reason i thought the Z didnt have a powered one, because its fixed!
