Default Halogen vs HID

I want to buy new headlight housings for my 2003 Z because they have developed that sun damaged haze all over them. I try and clean it off with products from pep boys but it comes back a week later. So i went on Amazon to find new housings but im not sure what I have HID or Halogen and the Amazon product mentions its not for HID's....I think I have HID's as my headlights do have a clean white/blueish tint to them, not the typical brownish light but im not sure. My Z came with stock 18's and VDC so ive always believe its the Performance model Z made in 2003 but again, not quite sure! Is there a part number I should look for? I dont see one on the Amazon ad....

Thanks

I had the halogens and I put HIDs in there - my car is 05. if you need JUST the housings - those will work.. Also I bet if you clean your existing ones really good - (NO PEP BOYS)...Im talking wetsanding and using good cleaning compounds - your headlights will look like new..

could save your self 200 bucks..and just pay someone 20 bucks instead... just an thought

There's a 3M kit that I've heard good things said about. It comes with a number of polishing compounds and a buffing ball that gets put into a DC powered (not high-speed AC) drill.

I'm not sure HID was even an option on the '03 ... anybody?

The problem is the HID lights and the halogen lights have different connectors. It isn't a simple plug and play to install the Amazon lights in a car originally equipped with HID lights. Go to YouTube and search for headlight polishing videos. There are several out there and I'll bet that with the right products and technique, you can easily polish your headlights.

All the Z's from 2003-2005 other than Base models came standard with HID headlights.

Members have purchased inexpensive headlights on eBay and ended up with a wiring nightmare. I recommend that purchase headlights from a reliable source.
