This is awesome and should have been an available option on the 350Z. To me it looks better and honestly I cannot tell you why I think that.

Sorry no update this week
got cold outside & a little discouraged right now (top-half fitment)

what I have learned......

I really like the function of the seat and the open area. On top of its K9 benefits, it is so nice to be able to throw my camera box in without going to the trunk. I was also able to put my MacPro (tower) in my car for the first time ever and in the original box to top that, along with my 2 monitors. it was awesome!! And if you really wanted or got yourself in a pickle, you could put a third person (side ways) for a short trip if need be(I know I'm not the only person who has encountered that at least once) just wish the drivers seat had a quick release like the passenger

dog still likes the front seat more, but has gone back there for more than a couple trips. Better get used to it so I can get some new seats this summer. lord knows she wont be sitting on those. going to include some hidden hooks so I can secure a removable seat cover for the rear. Looks too good to her her mess it up. plus her claws are gunna destroy that perforated leather

The more and more I tried to get that back half to fit, the more I realized Im gunna have to cut it up. I'm just not satisfied with it sitting away from the strut that far. doesnt look right. Even admitted I might not be able to do it, or at least am going to get a quote from a professional to modify the back half. otherwise I got a idea/plan for how I will attempt it. who knows maybe i'll get lazy and leave it.

STILL OPEN TO IDEAS ON REBUILDING SUPPORT
im still not convinced its okay leaving it how it is.

Well here's how I look at it. You have done something no one else has done and something that should have been an option. I say you keep going with this experiment cause let's face it... you've gone to far to stop.

Oh ya, not to be confused I have no intention of turning back, ever. Thrilled with the outcome thus far. Just keep over thinking each step. And am plagued with indecion.

This d"^% top half of rear seat looks so good, just doesn't fit and screwin its with my original plan.

besides a couple of areas, what you have now isn't far from a finished product in my opinion. You, however, have bigger plans which isn't a bad thing at all. if the passenger front seat was moved up a bit, is leg room in the rear decent? i'm curious

That was the worst. she would never lay down so I could close the hatch. then she'd run to the front. We got this down now

ya not really. like I move the seat all the forward when im workin back there and there's enough room for your feet. but when you lean the seat back to the upward, there's no room for your knees (I'm 6ft, with some long *** legs) best thing you could put someone in sideways fairly comfortably. but I'm trying it unless her friend is hot too.

move your seat around and look for yourself. nothing changed about that. all those 6'inch of the g35 is in the leg room

maybe some kids, but then you have to do the whole 9 yards with the seatbelts, and I wouldn't trust my child back there in a wreck(if I had any)

this is for larger items and my dog thats about it . . . oh and def to do something custom. . . I have very real expectations and I'll warn its a lot of work for a little space

Jackson,

Ok bro you got alot of ideas running in my head, lol, I need a big favor bro
If you can , measure the height width of the open space from the bottom and top, front and back also the depth of the space

I need to know the amount of space that opens up when u take out all of the cubbys ,

Thanks bro

Oh and!!! Any updates!

Just take the hatch off and make it a rumble seat!

In all seriousness, this is a rad project. Can't wait to see it finished!

Hmmm... if the ridigity issue gets figured out, I might go for just installing the bottom seats so I can just use it as a nice shelf to put my stuff on Keep us updated on the process! Looks like this is coming along nicely so far!

For sure. But ur gunna have to do a lil better than that.
Draw some lines on one of my gutted pics. Pm it back and I'll fill in the blanks.

Bet you can get most of those measurements off ur car.

I'm workin on it now. We'll see how I accomplish

Welcome to greatness. Success is around the corner.

Maybe a simply mocked frame tacked in>?

or perhaps i don't fully understand your issue.

really looks 95% done. very well executed.
