I don't think he wants to cut the top half, and the hatches angle is what kills the fit, alsSo since the G is a couple of inches longer
If you do cut it , I would cut the bottom and make it like half the size

no! i didnt remove that tunel. it still welded to the strut bar. but i bet that sub rattles the hell out of the seat that close but im puttin mine right behind the seat too.
ya now i gotta do my interior side panels with speakers(thinkin 2 5.25 on each side) and im gunna fill the trunk with a pair of subs and my 2 amps
im gunna have to cut the back down or just bolt it in with the offset gap at the bottom.

all the g's extra length is in the leg room. notice how our console runs into the rear seat. on a g35 the center tunel it drops the the car floor and then comes back up. and yes it is taller. look and the little rear window.
oh and this will NEVER fit a human, im 6 ft and I tried to sit back there but my shoulders up were outside the hatch.

i really dont want to cut it up. maybe if I bought i "more" used seat,
this one is way too pretty and clean to go hackin it up. figure something out.
close up example. maybe i can live with the gap at the bottom

my original idea was to not use the back and just fab a lil 8inch tall piece wrapped in foam and leather to cover the remaining section and still leave access to the back hole. but I like the way it looks so I might use it

looks awesome, i would fab the back part and have it wrapped. have you looked into possibly using the upper part of the backseat from a mkiv supra? it should be relatively close to the same size that you need to fit in the back and will also have the ability to fold the top half of the back seat down, just an idea for you to check out

I like the way it looks with the back section as well. Now just to figure out how to get it to fit and be able to close the hatch. If the padding was removed or cut from the bottom half, you could rewrap the leather on the bottom and that should give you the 2inches needed for the hatch to close

But if the gap bothers u enough, then just mock up an example so u can see
But if u find a good upolster , he can work some magic and make it look oem.. Lol

this seat should fold down. that is the way they are designed to be bolted in the g35. see red release button on top, also still has all the release cables in the seat) But I didn't want those brackets (for some reason) didn't look they were gunna fit by any means guess I should have asked for them.
not buying another seat, gunna make it work some how. and if i give up then I'm building myself a mini-back, to go with the bottom half
still got a ton of work ahead of me, big decisions too.
But I am very glad this is going so smoothly, really pumped to get started on the stereo half of this installation
thanks for the support! I debated on never telling any1 on here I going to do this
