welp, i guess i dont get to go back and add text in between pictures.. sigh.. dude that website is suuuuch a rip off.

Long story short, we finished the CNC oil pan.. a few pics of the process, bal honing the oil passages by hand by Prestige Racing/Machining... as well as the final result after hard coat anodizing in GOLD.
Fumoto brass quick drain valve, etc.

Also a few shots of the interior Alcantara work, Carbon fiber doors, red stitch, the Holley Terminator X Max Gen V ecu and GDI injection box locations.. as well as the Mako Motorsports screen mount for the Z column.. and the (finally installed) Holley 6.86 Pro Dash.

the entire engine bay was sanded down and I painted it using Steel-It brand paint.. and the car was sent to fab beforehand to have the dry sump tank, griffin radiator and Flex a Lite 15" black magic fan and shroud installed. Electric power steering pump was mounted on frame tusks, and a new reservoir was welded up to replace the tall plastic one.

We used 12x12x2 Vibrant cooler cores and made our own end tanks for dual pass heat exchangers for the super charger..

will have 12" fans on them as well.

5.5 gallon trunk tank for the super charger water, 1 " water lines and a Stewart EMP pump..

Headers (LOJ/Kooks) were fitted and slightly modified, then cerakoted in Burnt Bronze.

New lightweight air tank for the front air cup kit installed behind the seats... was just re carpeted last night, no pics yet.

Radium Fuel Hanger Surge tank housing 2 walboro 450s, and a DW300c in the stock basket as lift pump.
8an ptfe lines and fittings from Finish Line Factory.

High flow e85 sensor mount (10an) and a large Aeromotive fuel filter.

Refreshed the plastic wiper cowls w Duplicolor trim black.

Drive shaft is here in hand, literally just need the transmission funds :/

Im still short 4 grand, but ill get there .

Whats left is:
mounting brackets for the heat exchangers.. some adjustment to the ac condenser core mounting.. some light wiring for the dash functions, set up logic etc.

installing the oil pan onto the engine after final engine dust and air blasting..

Installation of the clutch , clutch lins and pedal fork

Some ecu wiring in the engine bay, and the ecu to ac system wiring.

So im basically waiting for a chance to make extra money during overtime etc... and then were slowly knocking the rest of this out, week by week.. no stopping yet.

The interior, especially the doors is on another level. I love the silver CF door handle inserts too. Wish your VQ didn't blow up so that it was still a Nissan engine.

The de blew up because they're junk.. Every single Nissan engine I have ever had dies by bearing failure. This is vastly superior engine. There's not a bone in my body that misses the life wasting, year stealing vq that used to live in this car. 🤷

Yet it hasn't been changed since the 60s lol.
reliability lies in use case. As a mechanic I see everything fail, even stuff you never think would, I'd take just about any modern engine over any LS. Everything has it's place IMO but as with everything people have their biases.

Ah... Well,. my bias is that a 3.5l V6 should not be asked to make triple the intended hp... I've spent 30 k and a decade of my life w nothing but problems... These cars shoukd be enjoyed NA. Anything else is just a hassle waiting to happen in my experience.

The final stage has been reached.. This car now has all parts on hand for final assembly and start run tune.

I can't fkng believe how hard this has been, what tolls this has taken on life love and my health lol.. But I AM AHAB lol.. And this project is my white whale.. Chased him thru every ocean and sea.. Suffered years of madness in order to see this quest thru to completion. 🤷🤦

Transmission has finally arrived.
Tremec magnum. Xl for an s197 mustang
Tick performance billet short shifter.
Tremec st246 twin disc clutch
Tilton hydro throwout bearing.
Fueled racing billet master cylinder for z to t56, braided lines and remote speed bleeder.

Input shaft needle bearing snout adapter for Ford snout to chevy crank..

Everything has been wired up across the front core support ie, halo lights, nismo DRLs, horns, etc.. Custom harnesses and Deutsch connectors and weatherpack connectors for all items outside in the bay.

Turn signals, high beam indicator and fuel level wired to holley digital display

Holley display runs ssr grounded outputs to a bank of msd solid state relays. Operates the power for electric steering pump, supercharger water pump, DRL operation, FIA rain light, red headlight halos etc.

Carbon fiber support rods to solidify splitter aft of the supercharger water cooler tanks.. Aluminum splitter rods in front.. Welded off chassis tabs on the bash bar.

Carbon splitter tunnels fully mounted and flushed in place.

Added a chase bay power steering baffled reservoir off the side of the custom aluminum tank on our steering pump.

Next up, pulling engine back out.. Installing clutch and throwout bearing, pulling oil pan and timing case to install a billet timing guide (engine bulletproofing) and then it all goes back in...

Final torque specs revised for the entire car, suspension and engine.. Adding fluids..
Going back over the fuel system wiring to be sure no lose ends..

My buddy who did the body w me last time is coming by to help realign everything so we can mark the line up w tape lines making disassembly and reassembly easier... Then we can swap the rails motors and glass into my carbon fiber doors..

Will have to tow it to fab guys place to build a y pipe for the long tube headers to single 4" oval exhaust that is still sitting here in the garage... Exhaust tips welded.. Radiator hard pipes fixed ( we had the in and out mixed up. Oops) oil and power steering cooler mounts fabbed to nose/bash bar.. And to have at least a somewhat basic alignment and base map/ base tune done so I can make it to the dyno on its own... No more towing 😎🤟

Pics of the build that never made it to the thread yet.. Bcz photo bucket app is trash.

Dash blank kit for USB, runs to the lcd screen gauges as well as to the ecu

Used wire ferrules and adhesive lined shrink with all wires on this build

We fabbed a swirl pot for the radiator upper hose.. The thermostat steam line runs to it as well.

This oil pan is cnc mastery, and probably stronger than the engine block is.
This is what we had to do for the oil pick up path.. 45° Tunnel from a stainless steel wagon wheel adapter ring, brazed to the factory pick up screen..

Factory windage tray is retained.

Two modular sections of oil pan were required.

12AN fittings in and out to dry sump oil tank

Had the inside of the oil pick up fully ball honed by a machine shop to smooth it as much as possible.

High quality stainless hardware that we had to order from the uk

Work of art, installed under a car.

Cerakoted headers mocked up. Fittings installed for oil tank and remote oil filter

Pnr welding 5.5 gal water tank and Stewart EMP water pump for supercharger water system, 1" lines used, splitting to 12an for each cooler core and supercharger brink inlet/outlet.. No more daisy chaining..

Joying 2din..extebded ribbon cables for display and for rotating motor..

Ordered a spare chassis and motor.. Cut chassis in half and used this to make a solid mount above the existing 2din w all of the audio guts inside...

Temp mounting position and solution.. Custom smoothed/shaved carbon waterfall being created later on..

Relay module and arduino breadboard to allow the joying unit to operate latching and momentary relays for up to eight low draw items.. ( leds, halos, interior lights, show car stuff etc)... All run off the brainiac app/launcher on the android unit.

Added a barbed fumoto valve to the oil pan drain.. No tools needed. Dry sump tank is vacuum drained..

Custom built. Supercharger heat exchangers.

Silicone 2.5" brake duct hose.. Remains to be routed..

I rememeber reading the first post of this thread many years ago. It has been one HELL of a ride from this side of the screen. I can only imagine what it must have been like going though the many many phases of this rebuild.

Unreal that you got a normal looking front bumper to fit with all that hardware hiding beneath. Top tier build as always, and hoping to see it all finished up soon.

Fiiiinally got a Nissan thread pitch bolt welded up w the proper tab to allow mounting up to this Tremec transmission.

Freshly brushed the shift boot finisher w a drill, Wd40 and scotchbrite.
And the shift feel is absolutely incredible.. It is just notchy enough to stay precise and mechanical.. Absolutely zero play in the locating spring.

At this point... I am missing the heater core hoses, which will be handled this weekend..

I need to correct the radiator hard lines (they are reversed currently)..
Need an exhaust y pipe Fabricated.
Need the clutch pedal clevis installed, fluid added and pedal adjusted
Need front calipers put back on and a full bleed.
And lastly, will need the super charger water lines from trunk to engine bay..

But otherwise... That's it.
That's all that's left to do now.
