ya boi dont quit.
Interior should be back from stitch work beginning of June...
removed he visors and headliner and swapped em doa local for a few hundo and his stockers.. that way we have a fresh batch to recover and stitch up w matching material.
Going to throw a red french seam along the window line and down into the A pillar that Al Vincent is building me for my Hertz 3 way midranges.

In other news, things are moving in terms of the oil pan.. had some friends step up and help me design a flange file to be CNCd out of aluminum.. having the test part 3d plastic printed now.

Ran into more issues w the alternator.. it wont fit on the stock water pump location.. Id have to cut out where the front arms mount .. nope.. so now I have to engineer a crazy mount to hang it off the drivers side below the tensioners.. and run it off the supercharger belt.. ill have to build a bracket and also try and add another idler to take care of belt wrap on the pulleys.
Im going to have to do the same to put a blank idler pulley where the alternator would have normally been.. this LT4 pulley system is INSANE.

This being the case, I opted for a volvo C70 electric ps pump.

Got the FDF custom wider upper arms in place.. they came out stellar.

Now just waiting for my FDF lower compression rods built for non drift cars.

New progress.
Dude is still working on the program file for my cnc oil pan... Hooray.. Super fun.. Can't wait to have to pay for that lol.
Al Vincent made me some custom A Pillar speaker pods for the hertz three way set up midranges..
Off to upholstery as soon as they reach me.

New FDF lowers shouid arrive by the weekend..

i always wondered why they didn't have a wide body suspension kit that pushed the entire knuckle out an inch or 2 so -offset wheel bearing destroyers wouldn't be needed. This is the first time I've seen it in action, keep up the good work.

Thread ain't dead, build isn't over.. I'm just out of extra money, and it's killing my progress tbh :/
Some quick updates..
Most of the people I'm working with on stuff have had covid in the last few weeks, so I had to puallause going to the machinists on weekends, working on oil pan design..
My upholstered got it as well, and says he's starting my headliner and A Pillars first so that way he can follow the nap/direction of the fabric correctly onto the dash and doors.. Makes it really easy to just wipe it all w a microfiber in one direction for a clean look
Also, the FDF arms are installed but I'm a little co cerned about how low they sit vs the oe arm being centered on the chassis pin. The solution?
Leave it the f alone for now lol.. If it becomes an issue for binding or hitting the steering rack boots as it seems it may, I'll simple machine out a steel sleeve to fit over gktech solid or es poly bushings and cut off the heim and weld that in place instead.. It will still have a heim joint at the knuckle so it can be adjusted and widened either way 🤟
I sent the alternator back to DC Poowr again to have an 8 rib oversized pulley made, so it can run off the supercharger belt, and won't be spinning at warp speed due to my larger up sized supercharger lower pulley.
I can move up to 370 Amp, but I'm told the bets overall performer w good idle output is to stay w the 270a.
With my volvo electric steering.. Big fans etc.. I'll need all I can get.

Welp, for 99 bucks a year. Photo bucket sure turned into absolute garbage. Their aps suck. Their bandwidth sucks. And their desktop... Sucks..
Suffice to say, my inability to post progress has not slowed my actual progress..
Oil pan is basically done.. Alternator bracket is done.. Idler bracket is done.. Holley ecu is here in hand..
And I have funds here for a tilton twin disc and a Tremec trans..
Just waiting for after the holidays..
But regardless all parts are here besides plumbing and lines. All sensors etc.. On hand.
Go time.. This will be done, fully... running w a painted bay and proper tuned by June, perhaps sooner.
And then I am fkng DOOOOOONE. W this madness lol.. It's been real.

I think at some point, when we are all no longer around, this Z belongs in some type of showroom or museum. Lines between car, heart, dedication, passion and art, are blurred. Shame if sold to some random person who will just wrap it around a tree on Thanksgiving.
It's a my350z annual holiday where we celebrate the one known as Dugan: https://my350z.com/forum/the-lounge-...nksgiving.html

sure wish photobucket would enter 2022 and develop an app that wasnt total dog shyyyyte. lol.
A shame to pay 99 bucks a year to keep these threads alive for everyone , only to not be able to even difficulty update them w pics
i have a fabrication appointment with my buddy the week after Easter to make a custom core support/ radiator mount.
Griffin radiator ( mopar style) in hand, 31 x 19 x 3. A big boy.
PLM heat exchanger for ZL1, and a custom universal AC evap core... all to sit lower , just above the splitter now, and will be positioned in front of the oem frame rails/tusks...
so some bumper trimming will be necessary.
Also having him mount my power steering pump under the drive headlight in the fr bumper.
Finish-line Factory 8an PTFE fuel line and hose ends arrived yesterday.. and ill have the fuel system fully plumbed by the weekend.
my hatch got stuck closed, and after wrestling the interior panels to allow access to the emergency pull, we got it open and now there is no power to the hatch, so that will need to be traced..
All ecu wires to the fuel system, power distribution etc are done.
ECUs mounted, io expander mounted, as well as the GDI injector box, which is fricking massive.
My Holley 6.86 lcd gauge screen should finally ship end of this month...and i purchased a brand new mount made by Mako Motorsports thats plastic printed to fit the screen and bolt on to the z column.
engine harness is mostly all settled, just need to figure out starter wire, ac request wire and to make a plug and play harness adapter from the gm pedal connector on the harness to the 350z pedal connector in the engine bay by the battery.
Tilton Engineering is now a supporter of the build, and i received their ST 246 twin disc clutch for the Gen V LT engine, as well as their hydro throw-out bearing kit.
I am 10000% out of money lol.. but Im making it happen.
I have to finish, there's no choice.
Ill wind up having a car that starts but with no transmission, most likely,, that's a high dollar item and will be the absolutely last thing on the list.
Barring transmission issue, I should be able to get this running by June July. No more waiting, I have been literally living in my garage, but the sht part is that i have absolutely no one here to help me, with literally anything.. so its a slow process.
I have help when it needs a tow, but otherwise this is all on me and the fab guy lol.

Hatch fixed.
Engine bay painted w steel it.
Fab done, power steering pump, radiator and dry sump tank all affixed.
Awaiting vibrant 12*12*2 core to be built w end tanks into dual pass coolers for the super charger
Finishing wiring the ecu and screen over this weekend..
Test boot worked fine yesterday.
Oil pan should be done at anodizing this week.
Tilton st 246 dual clutch arrived months ago
Still need money for a transmission but I have everything I need to finish right now, jst waiting on the cooler core fab, then I can plum this thing
