Default Help with Depo headlight install on 2003 OEM HID Z

So I'm having these depo lights installed today and the mechanic calls me to tell me there is an extra wire on both sides which could cause an electrical fire. I'm guessing it is the extra high beam wire on the existing 2003 HID harness. Would my best bet be to tell him to snip that wire and wrap it in electrical tape or do I need to save this wire?

If these are the 06+ reps I don't remember having an extra wire. But yes, either wrap it in electrical tape or buy those little plastic caps and screw it on.

Yes, they are the reps that Depo makes. I will try to install on Saturday myself and see what he is talking about. Do you have these same lights? If so, did you install yourself? Thanks

Yes I do and yes I did. Not hard, just the front bumper has to come off. Little tip, adjust the lights with the silver ***** on the back before you put the bumper back on. Other than that, you just swap everything from the old headlights over. You need to buy a different turn signal bulb though. I believe it's the 06+ bulb, but check the big thread on these lights.

Yeah, i bought all new bulbs L.E.Ds and the D2S. I bought two load resister to prevent the hyper blinker on the signal lights (What i was told). I also snipped the blue wire on both lights to prevent the turn signal DRL. I will install everything on Saturday and let you know how it goes. As for the light Adj. Should i aim the car at a wall and Adj from there? what is the proper light height? Thanks man.

What I did was aim at a wall and bring them level my hood. Take it for a drive and if you're too high or too low you can remove the fender liners to adjust it.

I didn't install any resistors or have to snip any wires for mine... just installed some single prong bulbs and they worked just like normal.

You can stick a long screw driver in the head light and adjust them. All you have to do is pop the hood.

I get my car back from the shop Tmro evening, I guy backed up and hit the front of it over a few days before Xmas. The shop finally called me to tell me it was ready. I went to pick it up last Saturday to find it had overheating problems. The tech called me today and told me it's it's fixed and he was able to get the lights in but I would need to go to another shop to have them look/ modify the "extra wire". I will balance lights and see what " extra wire" he is talking about hopefully this Saturday after work. The signal and DRL I bought are both LED. I was told if I don't buy the resistor then the amber signal lights will flash as a hyper blinker due to the harness not being set up to blink LED's. He could have been full of it but I'll see when I pick up the Z Tmro. Thanks for all your help guys, really.

In theory if you have an electronic flasher instead of a thermal one you can run LED's. I haven't tried it though.
