Omfg You cannot just replace the sensor-its part of the TB. Which is $663.55 + 7.14 for the gasket. Well I am SOL, thats wayyy more than I was hoping for. I will order an OBDII reader and verify this before even thinking of doing that, just my luck-f*ck me

You prolly know this, but I've heard Frederick Nissan is mod friendly.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Lol, yeah right. They install mods and sell $hit for OUTRAGEOUS prices, I wouldnt consider them mod friendly. I called for a clutch/fw install quote just labor-they said $1000 That place should be burned down. Thanks for the suggestion though.

So will any used TB work on my car? Or does it have to be year specific?

a few suggestions.
based on my past experience with boosted cars, here's a couple scenarios.

the surging on throttle could be leaky pipes on the turbine inlet. So somewhere between the headers and the turbo might be a leak.

As for the stalling, the bov is recirc'd, isn't it? with the tnetics kit? I'm not positive, just asking, as the MAF can flip out sometimes and stall (but it's draw through, so this shouldn't be the case)....or perhaps there's a leak in the throttle body itself or gaskets or the plenum somewhere, which would allow metered air to escape and therefore the MAF would go all whacky and cause the car to stall.

Just from my experience those are a couple possible causes. I had the surging before, and that was from a leak in the turbo manifold/head bolt up. A simple gasket replacement made it 100% better.......and on the stalling, a new clamp (or possibly in your case, new gaskets) might fix it. Or checking the torque of the plenum as you had to remove it for the injectors.

did you put on new gaskets when you reassembled the plenum?

just some suggestions to prevent you having to buy a new tb.

I torqued everything down correctly, and I dont have any vacuum leaks so I doubt it would be the plenum. Its not a stalling like you would get from a car with a vacum leak its a complete engine turn off, or drop to idle with loss of throttle control. We dont remove the exhaust manifolds on the TN install so Id be doubtful that the head/exhaust manifold gasket would be bad, but I will double check everything. And no I didnt put on a new gasket when I did the plenum, but I do have one now, and Ill replace next time the plenum is off. I guess I can always get a used TB, I REALLY appreciate all the advise and suggestions guys.

no not the header gaskets, but the gaskets of the tn pipes to the turbine inlet, maybe there's a leak there?

If something like the TB chamber/TPS inside fails wouldnt it stay like that? I reset the ecu by leaving the battery unplugged, and now it seems fine. I know the problem will return though, so I guess I have to go drive it.....btw thanks for the link twodown

well FWIW I think Sully said that he was able to turn the car off and get it to run again also. It could be that it needs calibration???

yeah, if you reset the battery and the problem isn't still there, it doesn't sound like it's a permanent thing....if the part was bad the problem would always be there.......

I was getting a CEL, but after res-setting the ECU, I figured the problem would come back immediately but I guess not. Last time it took about 3 miles of driving to get the car to drop to idle and make me lose throttle input. And that was after I did the TB resets....I think its weird it wont automatically throw a CEL even after resetting the ecu. Tomorrow Im ordering an OBDII reader/software from www.digimoto.com Ill pull the codes before purchasing another TB
