Power Enterprise Install: SHEZHOT
Very nice choice of kit. I have test pipes on my stock exhaust and the test pipes are key. I'll upgrade the exhaust when i have the money but im a student and the install+kit dented my wallet for a while. I'm running stock boost (4.8psi) and for me it's a HUGE difference from stock.
The test pipes are not loud, my car is actually much quieter (besides the bov) than it used to be.
I was nervous with test pipes for a while because i live in So Cal where the cops are picky as hell. The other day i sat in the wendys drive-thru with a cop right behind me with his windows down and he didn't even notice.
There are a number of things i have heard people do to alter the kit to make it better, some were probably already mentioned.
1. they y coming off the intercooler. like mentioned before it can be made more efficient.
2. Routing intake filters into the wheel wells for colder air and changing to different brand filters like k&N etc
3. i think an oil cooler is important, i did that
4. definatley get a tune
5. definately get an AFR and boost gauge
6. the PE kit instruction manual recommends 10w40 oil, remember if you arent changing your oil yourself you need to tell the mechanics that there is now an extra quart of oil, 6 total.
7. since your kit is used you may want to run a fuel system cleaner (redline brand is good) in your gas tank once just to try to clean out the injectors, etc
thats all i can think of right now

I appreciate this info and thank you for taking the time to share.
My notebook for my PE TT goals and plans will include this advice.

Sorry for the delay. It's been a very stressful week for me and trying for Nick. He hit a snag with the ECM. Here's a bit of what's transpired. I have paced a hole in the floor, worse than a dad waiting for junior to be born. Anyway, read on:

Z won't crank. An issue with the ECM not getting signals to the coils has put my Z in the shop today. Nick was unable to get it to crank all weekend. He spent countless hours Fri-Sun looking for the problem throughout the entire car, going back through every connection, wire, system, etc. To no avail and as of 11pm lastnight there was no answer and still no cranking. It's most likely the ECM and the prayer is that it's an easy fix.
Today (5-16-07) the Z was taken to a Nissan dealership and placed on the Consult II and it was determined that it was a bad ECM. Here's what Nick wrote on another site where I have a thread:
"Pam has a large capacitor in her stereo system, and unfortunately I didn't know it until after it arced across wiring I was working with. The battery was disconnected, but the capacitor acts as its own battery with a lot of power to discharge, and it found an opportunity to do so, at the expense of the stock ECU. It appears to have taken out the signal to the coils to fire."

Racing 350Z with many, many mods
So I will go to ZDAYZ in my sons 240sx, wait for the ECM to come back and get installed, then pray that it cranks the car.
I was so frazzled this weekend with worry, but NitrousZ, Ninja350Z, and a few others helped me get through it with laughter and wisdom...as they have been down this road before. I thank all who have helped me, watched this thread with enthusiasm, and continue to support me with kind words.
Next week, the Sunset beast will breathe!!!
Peace
