Take the belt off and crub it with hot soap and water. If you feel the belt is done, get a new one.
Also do the same to your motor and pulleys.
Pulleys and belt always need to be clean. Any little bit of dirt, grease or coolant will just cause problems with a blower.
When tightening the belt, first take it up snug, then 1/2 turn each in till no slip or squeal.
If the Belt and pulleys are clean and you get squeal, then take the belt up 1/2 turn, if you still get squeal, then another 1/2 turn and so on.

How sung do you run your belt? On mine, on the long straight section between the power steering and the grooved idler I can twist the belt just over 90 degrees by hand. Is that about right or too loose?
I'm running this layout but with the GTM style pulley mod with two pullies.:
Edit.. I'll probably end up ordering one of your braces from you in the near future too.

Well, good news and bad news.. Ran out of MAF (5.19v) on the dyno at ~5000rpm, ~10psi.
Made 407/348 on a rough tune, and a dynojet that has a tendency to read low apparently. Couldn't do too much after running out of MAF.
It's the older blower the first Z kits came with, 2.87 jackshaft pulley, 34/28 cog pulleys, added 'GTM' mod, Treadstone TR1045 Intercooler, and a 3" MAF pipe.
I was under the impression I would be good with the stock MAF in the 3" pipe because the 3" pipe increases the range ~20%, I guess not.
Based on my setup, anybody knowledgeable care to comment if running out of MAF at that point seems about right? I was a bit surprised, I thought I'd be good with the 3" MAF pipe.

Do you think 1000cc injectors are overkill for my setup? I tried to bring my fx35 to get tuned at zcgarage recently and they recommended that I go with 1000cc injectors(which they sell/install) to replace my gtr 570cc injectors. I did a lot of research on here beforehand and from what I've seen, a lot of people on here run the dw 600cc or the gtr injectors that is good for up to 400whp which is what I am aiming for. Below is my setup. What do you guys think? Thanks -Dom
-Vortech V3 Tuner Kit with 2.87 pulley
-GTR R35 570cc OEM Injectors
-Uprev GT Maf
-Walbro 255 Fuel Pump (no RFS since I need to pass smog in Cali)
-NGK Iridium Sparkplugs - 1 Step colder
-MotorDyne 5/16" ISO Thermal Space
-Fujitsubo Legalis R 3inch Exhaust
-M2 Performance Y-pipe
-Berk Technology High Flow Cats

You're existing GTR Injector is Fine. No need to go bigger with you're setup.

Modified the stock MAF, rescaled the MAF table in UpRev. Getting to about 4.5v at redline.
I still have a bit of belt slip to deal with, then back to the dyno.

SO, i just read the past 6 pages, which goes back 2 years or so. I have a 2007 350z with about 46K mileage, K&N drop filters, Z1 hi flow cats, and MD Shockwave exhaust. As this is my daily driver and only car, I value stability and longevity first, and performance second. My goals are to have this car running for the next 50-75K mileage, and any HP north of 400 rwhp i'll be happy with.
I want to get forced induction and a supercharger fits my purposes more then a ST/TT. So a V3 Vortech/Stillen it is. Their official V3 page was a bit sparse in specs so I emailed them and I got the following response:
I'm also planning on buying an upgraded oil cooler, Stillen recommended their SETRAB cooler for $488. Thoughts?
Based on above goals and parts, is there anything else I need? A local stillen dealer (PTUNNING, Manassass, VA) is doing the install.

Cog belt moving
Does anyone know how I can tighten the cog belt tensioner? My cog belt keeps moving away from the blower and is getting chewed up. I dont think my dog belt is tight enough. I tried pushing the pulley down to tighten it, but still can move the belt with my fingers. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
after finally having read through all 113 pages..
1) can anyone help confirm the exact kit# from Vortech for a 2003 G35 5AT coupe?
I need a complete kit (CARB approved) since this is for a California car...
I called Vortech and their sales associate is saying it should be 4NZ218-010L but their install manual seems to indicate
kit# 4NZ218-010L as being "2003-2004 Standard Engine 350Z, V-3 SC" and doesn't mention G35.
vs
Kit# 4NZ218-030L for 2003 Infiniti G35, 6-Speed
the only difference in part#s between the two kits seemed to be 5A001-351 vs 5A001-354 - timing control box...?
I'm a little paranoid, I just want to get this ordered correctly and then worry about install and tuning without missing anything critical.
on relevant mods at this point are transgo valve body upgrade and HKS cat-back exhaust. oil cooler has been ordered, and will go in ahead of the SC,
along with upgraded radiator.
2) if I decide on getting CJM stage1 RFS along with Walbro lph 255 fuel-pump and DW600CC injectors,
would I still be able to use the Vortech SS box? if not what would be the next step?
goal is 400WHP, reliable daily driver that will pass standard smog check =)
any help would be greatly appreciated, looking to finally make this happen within next few weeks!

Is the vortech complete kit, not upgradeable? i wanna get the full kit so i have the CARB # but i notice everybody prefers to get the tuner kit, why? The complete kit comes with everything you need so if you want more power just change the injectors, pulley, intercooler etc. people make it seem like you cant do that with the full kit

Yes it's upgradeable. The 'tuner kit' just isn't using Vortech's fuel/tuning management. Most prefer to use an upgraded return style fuel system, bigger injectors and their choice of tuning. The Carb # is actually on the blower. Once you switch to a return style fuel system, that pretty much a dead give away it's not CARB compliant anymore. If I had to smog my car... I'd rather just remove everything, make my car 'stock' and avoid the hassles.
