Agreed. The higher impeller speeds are where the 928 impeller will fall off and the 928 will not.

AS A SIDE NOTE I SPOKE TO CARL TODAY AND HE DID RECALL THAT THE SC TRIMS THE IMPELLER DIDN"T FIT WERE V3's. NOT V2's.

After reading for half a year information about Vortech SC system I have left few questions.
1. What trim to choose from SCi or Si? What version V2 or V3? (I am not tracking my car)
2. Do i need an oil cooler if I will go with V2?

I have 03 with all breathing mods like Test Pipes, Nismo S exhaust, Motordyne Planum spacer, Intake, and I am planing on buying 600CC injectors, 255 walbro pump and i am going with 3.12 pulley. My goal is reach 400-420 whpw. What do you think do I need anything else? It is weekend car.

Has anyone put the oil return in the lower oil pan, the little black one, seems so much easyer to just take that off and weld a return to it. Instead of drilling into the aluminum casing of the engine

For anyone curious here is a dyno graph of a before and after 928 impeller install.

vortech FAQ: read this before asking vortech questions-dyno.jpg

This is on a Mustang Dyno that reads 20% lower than a typical Dynojet, but you get the idea of what this upgade is capable of.

If you click on the image, it should open up on a larger scale.

For a simple install go with a V3(no oil feed line or drain line to route, and no oil pan tap needed). As far as trim, that is up to you. An oil cooler is always a good idea regardless. You may or may not make 400-420whp with the 3.12 pulley, every car is different.

1) For your goals, any of those trims/versions you listed will get the job done. I would recommend combing the Vortech site to get individual specs for those versions/trims and choose the one to your liking.

2). Assuming money is no object, I would run an oil cooler with a V2.

so Im reading this and " Vortech does not do quality checks on their kits before mailing them out ..."

umm do you mean they dont make sure these things are assembled correctly? I may be wrong but doesnt the compressor assembly need to be balanced much like a regular turbo assembly?

thanks

your also going to need a upgraded MAF sensor and i would highly recommend a fuel return system. i went with the 928Motorsports 3.00 pulley. and the GTM duel pulley kit to reduce the possibility of belt slip. also add upgraded spark plugs and would also recommend at least a boost and wideband gauge.

Thanks, I agreed on the Spark Plugs but I read that MAF and FRS is not necessarily need for my power range.
