Default Kinetix V+ and Turbo Install Issue

I am installing my Kinetix V+ along with my Turbonetics Kit. On the stock plenumn there is a nipple that you can use in the front of the plenumn for your boost gauge. With the Kinetix V+ there isnt one.

Has anyone installed a Turbo Kit with this plenumn and where did you hook up your boost line?

Not sure what I should do?

NO, not at all. Just have to do it right. Tap a hole, thread it, and put a port in it with thread sealant tape.

Where did you tap yours? next to the side nipple or in front like the stock one.

Check this out if you don't want to tap the plenum:

you'll probably want to use either a 1/8" NPT or 3/8" NPT tap. You'll need need the appropriate sized drill bit.

check with a good hardware store on where to get the drill, tap, and tap handle.

I wouldn't trust that plastic POS under boost. A local to me called me up.... hey, I am not making boost, can you look at my car? Sure enough, that POS crapnetix plenum was warping and was not sealing properly on the gasket -> and this was the V+ on an APS single turbo running about 9-9.5 psi. Do yourself a favor and put the stocker back in and sell the V+ to some sucker that doesn't know any better

I didn't have to tap one. I have the Crawford intake. I just know what has to be done. You just need the proper size bits to do, like QuadCam said. Look to do it in the left side of the intake, like all the others.

I did it yesterday, got a 3/8 thread nipple a 22/34 bit and a 3/8 tap. Drilled into the left side (drivers side) of the plenumn tapped it and threaded in the nipple, it looks just as good as the nipple that came with it installed. Thanks guys!

So the Crawford plenums don't have this problem then? They already have the port/nozzle?

No, they don't have that issue, nor are they made from plastic that warps and cracks

I havent had a problem with my kinetix v4 plenum. I had that for about 9 months, of course it wasnt under boost but it treated me great, best part was 0 heat soak. I could drive all day and put my hand right on the plenumn. Now that is sweet, less heat more HP.

I havent had a chance to run the V+ yet. Feelings to be determined.

Boost changes the equation dramatically, so I can see how that would stress/warp the plastic. One of the reasons I didn't get a spacer for my upcoming Vortech install.
