Has anyone ever hooked up a boost gauge to the turbos housing to see what the pressure is at in comparison to the intake manifold pressure? How much pressure loss are you guys getting, I am wanna compare with mine because I think i have way too much(I have a custom RMT setup).

Daniel got banned because a guy with like 5 posts bought an xbox off of him and claimed it was broken, even though he had a flawless itrader rating on MUCH more expensive stuff than an xbox. He is a good friend of mine and a good guy in general and had established a good reputation on this site. It's funny though, he had been ripped off on a more expensive item (valve body) and nothing was done, but some guy that really wasn't ever around on the forums before the transaction or after for that matter comes on and gets him banned.

Search here.. I think Ashmo did use the compressor for his WS reference and he was loosing about 2-3 psi VS the manifold.

yeah, it was like 2 weeks after i bought a camera off him. Everything went perfect with that purchase. He even offered to refund my money because he couldn't find the original box(like that would even matter). I hope they let him back, he was a good member here

I have been searching, only found another person DudeMan or something like that, and he was loosing 4psi. I am loosing 6, so I wanted to know if its my piping or what.

That could also be your FMIC. How big is it and how efficient is it? Did you check any leak?

No leaks, I actually found a few of them including the intake manifold being cracked, but after fixing I still got 6psi pressure drop, the IC is 28x9x2.75 with 2.5 inlets. As far as efficient, ehhh not very sure about that, its an ebay intercooler. Iv been doing research, and there are mixed reviews as to how much pressure loss you get from them. CXRacing is what i got.

Is that a Tube/Fine design FMIC or Bar/Plate? I guess it dont matter because STS uses Tube/Fine but we dont get that much worst pressure lost. I'll be switching to a Bar/Plate soon and hope to give a review if it really makes a difference.

Read through about 1/3 of this thread so far and was wondering if anyone has tried running higher than stock compression with the STS?

I came from G35Driver and I plan on doing a turbo build within the next 6 months, currently have about 3 grand saved up and I'm really leaning towards the STS kit. I'm looking to get 500-600whp.

First 3G is not even close enough.. That's probably enough for install/Tune/Gauges... Unless you can save 3K+ a month then it is a possibility in the next 6 month. Second, you dont want higher than stock compression for 500-600whp build. With STS you will need a much bigger turbo and you'll most likely have to boost 20+PSI to get there so high compression at that boost level is a . If you are serious about making good power, the easiest way is just get a TT but if you want to stick with a rear-mount then you better get a bigger motor (stroker) and lots of cash. If I'm not mistaken CMyTailsBlink did 600whp but with a 3.8L (stroker) motor and a T66 or T67 Turbo and was boosting 21psi on race gas.

I have a feeling you really havent thought about what is needed to get to your power level because if you did, then there is no way you will be dreaming of that WHP with only 3K in the bank...

I have and I've done a research and I'm still looking at TT kits. My 3 grand is what I have after a month, hence why I said within the next six months. In the end I'm expecting to spend more like 10 grand.

I'd really like to use the STS just for its originality and I'd be the first Z/G on Oahu with it. But if what your saying is true I should probably buy a used TT kit or maybe even go single.

I'm sorry but if you really did your research then you probably know that you will need a built motor to handle a 500-600whp car. Your 10K is barely enough for a built motor with install. You will need another 10K for the Turbo Kit and supporting mod. What about Cluctch? What about Gauges? What about breaks? What about Fuel?

If your budge is only 10K then I really suggest lowering your goal to maybe 350whp-400whp because that is the range your stock motor can safely support. Your 10K will be enough to buy all the supporting mods with this turbo kit but that is it....

To be honest I'm really starting to see that, it's disheartening, I'm really getting the sticker shock of moving out of the Honda scene, all worth it though. I even picked up a 2nd job to fund the build.

Looks like I should go with the stock STS kit on a stock motor for now, that will also allow me to learn the kit and work out any kinks. Than I can start saving up for a built motor and a larger turbo.

I dont see why one would have to ditch out 10k to build a block. 400 for rods, 600 for pistons, 130 acl bearings, machine work aprox round 500-600 bucks, good used bare block, 200-300, stock head (should be good for 500-600), 500 bucks for misc stuff needed(HR gasket and bolts, orings, etc..). If you put it together yoruself then labor is free, if someone else does it lets just add another 1k for hell of it. Thats aprox $3500 on a built block able to handle such power goals.

Now if your going with a builder or one of the sponsors, then thats another story.

/\ I was thinking more of a stroker block plus install. You can get a stage 2 long block from importpartpro for 5,650.00 + maybe 2-3K for install and other misc...
