I have the metallic cats. I changed mine out at early (legally have to fail or the car has to have 85k+ miles), I was worried cause they sometimes do a visual. They didn't look this year so I got lucky.

So you guys are running a breather on the drivers side and a check valve on the passenger side PCV line. I thought most people ran the catch can (sometimes with a breather filter) on the passenger side PCV line, w/ a check valve of course.

I didn't want to confuse my explanation before, but yes, I have a catch can.

passenger PCV ---> catch can ---> check valve ---> plenum

Okay, that was what I thought was the norm ... so what does this kit put on the driver side ... and why?

driver side can run to the intake or use a breather filter.

So do you guys recommend a breather on the passenger side or leave it closed to the catch can?

I personally want to have some vacuum applied to the crankcase under cruising conditions. Some others on here have gone with a fully open crankcase (breathers on both sides), but unless it's a track car I wouldn't do it.

/\ somewhere between 300-310whp on a DJ. I made 305@5psi with a conservative tune on MRC DD but that was with a DJ correction I believe.

Thanks Athen!
I have sts turbo myself and like to compare if my number is right. I was making 322 whp @5psi on dyno dynamic and at first, I thought it was "low" but it seems it's the norm. Maybe I was expecting vortech out of the box number.

What?! Show me a vortech that produce 322whp at 5psi on a DD. Stock Votech is close to 8psi and mid 350whp. Trust me there are already 2 former Vortech owners that just switched to STS and both are happy with their decision. Was your number raw DD numbers? If it is then that is a good number for just 5psi.

sorry, I meant I made that number on my sts turbo. I thought sts with 5 psi was making around 350whp (similiar with vortech sc @7psi) hence I thought mine was 'low' but after you said it made around 310 then I know my number is about right.

All things considered.....My STS set up crushes my previous Vortech set up in every way. The only advantage Vortech has is its CARB EO# for Cali residents. Good choice with the STS IMO.

I just finished reading every single post over the last 3 days

I am planning on ordering a STS kit from a registered dealer.

8400 installed and tuned in Canada! Stupid exchange rate.

Might be able to get it lower since the economy is still going down the toilet.

04 350z Manual transmission
27000 km!
