GTM tension pulley install DIY...
Don't go to Rio very much, have been to that site a couple of times but not very much, maybe some day we'll cross paths, I think I'm the only 03 DG coupe in town with blacked out tails and ride on Axis Hiro's. Anyway, GL with you Vortech or TT. Later.

I have the pulley just haven't installed it yet. I have the revised belt layout from vortech which uses a 79.5 inch belt, and my GTM pulley kit came with a much larger belt, like 93 or 95 inches. I will have to test fit a couple of different belts to find out which one will work best.

since install... No slippage, no noise... It was a great investment.
the only thing that bugs me is the rust that likes to build up on the pulley... Need to keep a thin layer of oil on it.

just to follow up on my pulley installed by GTM.. so far im getting a little squeaking sound during startup when its really cold outside. My belt is already so tight i can probably play music off of it by flicking it. Other than that no other issues really.
Quick question: Is the GTM pulley mod required with the revised, non-revup belt layout (79.5" belt) and 2.87 pulley? I don't want to add another pulley to the bracket if the 2.87" pulley won't slip with the revised belt layout.

With the gtm pulley it makes constant boost on my logs all the way to redline. 12psi. I also don't have to tighten the belt near as tight with it.
*those numbers are of no significance for the average vortech setup. I have a built motor with ported heads and cams so my boost pressure could be different. Basically with my setup the belt was slipping enough to lose 2 psi before the gtm pulley mod.
hi there..
ive been running my Vortech V2 setup for 2 summers.. with no issues more or less.
420whp/350wtq on Dynapack Dyno tuned with Uprev.. using 3.12 pulley.. with revised belt setup, according to the Diagram on the GTM website for the Pulley Mod..
the Pulley Mod is something ive had in mind, since installing the SC, but never got around to doing it. most of the time I am reaching the correct boost with the 3.12. but here and there, if pushing hard in 1st/2nd, im pretty sure the belt slips sometimes.
so this spring, I may finally get around to getting the pulley mod. for that final touch.
1st question: should the car be retuned after installing the pulley mod?
2nd question: in this thread I read some people posting, that there is a way, to correct belt slip without the pulley mod, by putting a pulley in one of the existing holes on the bracket? not sure what this is, is this the Timrod belt setup, or something different..?
thanks..
