ya thats crazy your serp belt moves that much. doesnt your SC pulley have a lip on it? Not sure how it could walk off. I;ve never seen mine shift at all.

I;m sure your sweet pulley mods will take care of all that! I'm not going into my tune with any expectations except a smooth running car. Thats pretty high on the torque range, so hopefully you hit it right on the mark. Even then, i'm sure turbos will be calling your name!

I dont know how different the rev up pulleys system is , but if the belt is walking off the pulley something isnt lined up right . Either the bracket wasnt put on right or a washer was left out somewhere . You shouldnt have any problems at all at 5500 rpms . I would have them check that out first before okaying a pulley system change .

I was thinking the same thing. I had the 2.87 pulley on and we took my car to around 6500-6600rpms (seen somewhere around 16psi) and the belt was holding very good, but I also have a 03 with the new belt layout.

Belts coming off have not been widely reported to date by folks..Lots of slipping.

1. Too loose
2. Not aligned (Boogers suggestion)
3. Belt too long
4. stretching too much (heat)

1. and 4. are a possibility, definately not 2. or 3. the car is in Sam's hands now so i cannot speak for what he has seen during the pulls. I trust Sam and belive he is doing every thing in my best interest to make things right. I told Sam if anything is even questionable on it's reliability lets fix it and if anything over engineer it so there is the least possibility of failure. i drive this car very hard when i do drive it and plan on doing some road course events as well as a little auto x this year

Just got off the phone with Sam. not going to happen tonight...we are going to go back to my original cog setup. Sam's idea was not going to work for the cog side due to clearance issues. he is going to mod the serp belt side though as discused perviously.........this is really starting to become a pain in the *** i hope it is all worth it......

I am starting to have thoughts about de-modding the z and selling it. i have been thinking about going back old school. Maybe building the cobra kit car like i always wanted to do, or buying another 70 chevelle SS like i used to have. This car is starting to get rediculos with the cash i have spent on it. tunning alone over the past 3 years i have spent $3500.00, for each upgrade i had to retune. to date including the price of the car i have spent $65,000.00 on her. this is starting to not make sense anymore.......

I know man, it's depressing when I think how much money I've spent on my car as well, especially considering I drive it about 2-3 times a week. I love the car though and even when I'd have thoughts of selling it, I get a gut-wrenching awful feeling when I think of driving around and one day spotting my car at a stoplight being driven and owned by someone else after all the work that I went through with it.

Do what you gotta do, this hobby is stupid expensive and can get out of hand real fast. Once the car is up and running fine, you'll feel better - I always do. It's always stressful when the outcome seems uncertain and you can't do anything but wait for the shop to fix the issue which you know will cost more the longer it takes.

I kinda sometimes wish I just left the car stock seeing all the money and time involved. But that all changes after I had a good drive. However I have no doubt other fast cars are just as exciting too

Hmmm . . . looks like the Si trim requires a bit more than just bolting it on and re-tuning.
