Default Vortech oil seal going bad already??

Si-trim with ~3,500 miles. Pulled the kit off after 3,000 miles to sell it, and noticed the BPV had sprayed some oil. Oil had collected right before the BPV, and there's a thin layer of oil in the pipes. No pooling beyond the BPV though.

Either, there was a backup in the return line for a little bit, or the oil seal is going bad?? Anyone know how much it is to have Vortech rebuild it? I'm going to have to call them tomorrow.

Dirty/oily housing

Very slight film - but no pooling or anything

Yeah, I have a catch can between my driver's side breather and my custom Vortech intake. However, the catch can never had any oil, and there was no trace of oil in the custom intake tube.

Ive got the same build up, but i dont have a catch can. The no oil in the catch can on your setup makes me worried.

Ive noticed that the oil normally exits the BPV and thats where the most settling is. From the FSM, they say that oil should only flow from the driver side valve breather hose to the intake under heavy throttle........or boost. Thats when the BPV should be closed though, which leads to 2 different thoughts.

1. Does that mean the oil is entering the ic pipes from the blower seals and settling in the IC pipes near the bpv or entering the intake, being burned.

or

2. The oil is entering the pipes under boost through the breather hose, but settles in the lower portion of the IC pipes and is blown out under low throttle through the BPV.

I have not noticed any blue smoke nor has anyone behind me when i hit boost. I do end up with a bit less then 5.75 quarts when i do my oil change. ( I have a oil cooler so i run more oil, should probably run a bit extra for the blower as well.)

I think it could be either situation for you. However, I wouldn't think that all that much oil would get sucked in through the breather tube - at least not enough for it to pool. I guess just install a catch can and see what happens.

I'm not shooting blue either. This was an accumulation of oil after 3,500 miles, so the oil seal must be barely leaking.

Passenger side PCV has nothing to do with this, since it's not at all connected with the s/c or charge pipes.

The passenger side is the main one not the driver. I didn't have one for the passenger side before and I had the same problem. Once I installed the other side, I had no more oil deposits.

You need a catch can between the PCV and lower intake manifold.

Sorry guys, but the oil is in the charge pipes as you can see - so it has nothing to do with the passenger side PCV. I have a catch can on there already (one on passenger, one on driver side).

So I know it's the oil seal issue or a backup in the return line. I guess I'm just trying to see if anyone other than myself and Chris have had this issue?
