Where the pieces in the cylinder or did they go through the turbo?

well i took off the turbo today, obviously and it seems fine. shaft spins nice and free and absolutly no play and something that usually happens with TN turbos didnt happen, no oil came from the hot side of turbo. I was suprised. LOL

Nothin in the cylinder. Might have gone through the valve and got stuck somewhere in the pipe or maybe wastegate or maybe somehow GOD felt bad for me and just let the peices just flow right past the turbine blades.

Check for oil leak around it. If theres oil leakin, then you might have a bad seal there or its cracked.

If you have a built engine with forged pistons, it could be piston slap. My engine is somewhat noisy at idle when cold, but it goes away when it is warmed up. I also attribute some of the idle noise to solid motor mounts.

def not piston slap, this happens when it is hot and its totally intermittant, it also goes away when i rev the engine.

I heard your noise when you came to my shop....it' valvetrain, IMHO. Valve lash is probably a little off.
