Motor comes out today and teardown is tomorrow morning at Justice Racing. Not sure if there will be any immediate results or not. Jim Justice said it may take a few days to sort through all of the info the motor gives them if a source/reason for failure isn't easily seen.

I guess I will go to Justice to see the teardown, not that I will have any input or help in any way, but if something is seen or thought to be the reason for failure I don't want to have to rely on other people's version of what happened.

I keep having crazy dreams/nightmares about the car. I am so removed from dealing with it now its hard to think of driving or even owning it. Before, I was buying parts constantly and working on cosmetic issues but now I decided not another penny will be spent until the car is on the road again, so its become more of a thoughtand less of a tangible object that I own. So far this year, I see my car just like the rest of the Mid-A people do, its sitting at a meet at Hill's or F:T and then stays there after I leave .

Thanks for the bump Ethan, I will let everyone know whats up after the teardown.

Definitely go to the teardown Cass. In fact, they should not even do the teardown until your schedule allows you to be present.

Good luck, let us know if you need anything.

I just hope the issues get worked out and the problems is corrected because I know you have been waiting a long time for your car and I know what it feels like to be without a car for months.. and if I have to tell Frank to stand down on my project to put more time on yours I will. You deserve your car back in a perfect working order in a timely matter.
+1

I went pass Hills this morning because of an early morning emergency and I saw your car on the lift like wtf? I dont know how you handle all of this.

Im officially scared sh!tless to buy from someone on here now.

Seller should be thrown under a bus only after being doused in gasoline and torched while being repetitively hit with a bat, all while on salvia... then charred broken body to be mashed up into cake, which buyer can eat... and then we can say

That is major suckage dude. No words will ever heal that major let down. (That copper crap I thought was originally massive detonation)

Anyone know what's going on? How did the tear down go? What bad parts did someone sell him?

I was really hoping Cass would get some good news, but it seems like his car is stuck in Murphy's Law hell.

Default The Teardown

So I get a call from Frank telling me the teardown will be at Justice Racing at 8:30am on thursday last week. I make sure I can get there and confirm that someone has notified Dave. I send Dave a text reminding him to please bring all data logs and dyno pulls for review by Jim (Justice) and his staff as we had spoken about previously. Dave never showed up or responded to my texts. Dave and Frank spoke the day before the teardown, but did not mention my car or situation. Here are the pics from the teardown.

Mouse turds on my valve cover - classic. My car may now have rodents .

Spark plugs looked fine and had uniform color.

Jesse, I confirmed that the oil pickup spacer was installed.

The rod bearings on #2 and #5 were done. Everything showed signs of wear similar to 30K+ miles according to Jim. The thrust bearings were gone as well, the crank had .20 of play front to back, tollerance is around .04 I think I heard Frank say.

The oil pump had some material in it, but was not locked up and was not the cause of the failure.

OH MY A$$!
No way thats a new motor! I seen bearing out of motors with over 100,000 miles on them that don't look that bad.
