My winter project...turbo fabrication

Yes, lots of tobogganing with my kids, but I don't think anybody is interested in those pictures.
I had to move the scavenge pump to the other side of the transmision, and closer to the turbo. This is mainly because I wanted to keep it as far away from the exhaust pipes as possible.
I am wating for an oil pressure sensor tee, 2" flex pipe and a 2" V-band clamp. Once they arrive everything under the car will be done. After that I can move up to the engine bay and do the injectors, vac lines, install haltech in cabin and guages..ect.
I don't know if I will have time tonight (tobogganing again) but I'll try to get the BOV welded/installed. If I get that done, I can put the bumper back on as well as the wheel well guards.
I have been balancing life/kids/wife with this build and luckly my wife is very supportive of my build (mainly because she wants to race).

Yes I can't coplain about that.
Last summer we went out for a movie, and on the way back this red SRT4 pulls up at the lights. She was driving and the windows were down, so the SRT4 driver asks if she wants to race him reving and all that other ricer crap. Her reply "sorry boys I don't race Neons". The drivers buddy was in tears laughins his *** off, and so was I becase I didn't expect it either. Driver didn't thing it was funny as he took off spinning the FWD all the way through the intersection.

Well, my wife and the kids went to bed early this evening so I was back in the man shack.
Got a few things done.
BOV installed and ready to go:

Couple of front end shots before installing the bumper back on:

Relocated scavenge pump, looks like it's close to the exhaust but it really isn't:

Drilled a hole and welded a piece of flat bar to the IC piping so I can attach it. That thing is solid!

There are a couple of things that couldn't go back on, but that is to be expected. The small bits in the top left corner are only things I had to cut off from the plastic splash guard that goes under the car. Really insignificant.

I was thinking about painting the end tanks black with that IC paint, but never got around to it. Bumper back on, without flash:

With flash, that IC is very reflective:

Okay, so it looks like there are no cats. I was curious because I'm still planning my FI build and will most likely go with a rear mount turbo similar to yours or the STS kit. I like your kit design better, and am interested in how it spools up.
I need to keep the CATs to pass emissions here in MO. They hook up to our OBDII to check for codes and sometimes will do a visual inspection. No cat = fail. Any code = fail. Any CEL = fail. I want my car to be a fun FI'd daily driver, but also pass emissions.

nice work, any word on the numbers your putting out since hal was there.
i would suggest bigger jackstands(or railroad ties) rather than what looks to be wooden boxes made out of 2x4s.

Actually I thought about putting in a single cat. I would have to relocate the stock O2 sensors as well, but it may be a good option.

As far as stands go, that works just fine, and BTW they are 2x8's with a 2x10 top. I am pretty sure one of those boxes can hold the entire car up. I did build them myself you know.

You, a bunch of other people....
![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I picked up the dam oil pressure sensor adapter, stupid BSPT, as well as a 6' braided turbo oil supply line. Got a few other things as well, some header wrap, (don't know if I'll use it) and I also got some of that heat reflecting wrap for some wires that may be too close to the cross pipe.
I am also excided about the fact that a local member is willing to help me out with tuning. He has a TT setup with a Haltech, tuned by him, so he is familiar with it.
I am hoping that the V-band clamp shows up this week (although doubtfull) then I can finally finish everything this weeknd, and start the car. I will start it with the stock injectors and ECU, this is primarly to make sure there in no exhaust leaks, and oil leaks. If that checks out then I put the car down and move on to installing injectors, Haltech and gauges.
I can't decide where I will put my a/f and boost gauge. I am kind of leaning towards this:
https://01885bc.netsolstores.com/Pro...58_general.jpg
but I wish there was somebody with it installed that could snap a picture so I can see what it looks like installed. I am not a big fan of the pillar pods, and I really like the cubby compartment.
I can see that this will be a tough decision to make.

Most people seem to shy away from that setup for the gauges, I think it creates a bad sight line or something like that. Since you have crazy fab skills, have you ever worked with fiberglass? You should PM XKR and ask him to send you a pic of where Forged custom mounted his gauges - they look great! It may not even be that difficult to do.
Just offering alternate ideas. The build looks great so far BTW.
