So... has anyone just put 2 breathers on their valve covers?

Hey guys, well ive been reading a lot about these different methods for venting crankcase gasses and what not.... My main goal is to avoid recirculating crankcase gasses into the intake, as well as to not pressurize the crankcase of course... I suppose the only "perfect" method would be to have either exhaust pull the vapors out or have a vaccum pump... both require too much work imo haha...
I was wondering if anyone has
(1.) just drilled the pcv valve out of the passenger side valve cover and put a breather there, while capping the port that goes into the plenum, and then
(2.) just put a breather on the driver side valve cover as well. I know this would eliminate any vaccum to get gasses out of the crank case, but this would also not allow any sort of pressure to build up and also not have to recirculate crank case gasses back into the intake stream....
Would this lack of vaccum be bad for the rings....?
I wonder if its necessary to put a catch can in line as well, anyone have experience with this and if theres a lot of oil blowby that comes out the breather filter? I have had a catch can on the drivers side and have noticed that zero oil accumulates..... so therefor I would assume the driverside breather shouldnt have much oil coming out the breather at all....
Your thoughts please?

My friend was looking at a procharged GTO last week and it had a massive breather filter in place of the oil cap, it was huge and screwed into the stock cap location. Im sure that would relieve any pressure problems

Well ,has anyone found a size and type of filters that will work for this app.? Also did you decide to run a vented catch can or just run the breather elements ?

The only problem with doing this is that any blow by you may have will collect in the filter and eventually can start to drip or blow oil into the engine bay. That's the drawback. I dealt with circle track cars for years before coming to Z1 and all of our engines were vented using breather stacks on the valve cover and in those applications we took the filters off and washed them weekly so there was no issue with oil build up.
You may have a little bit of a burnt oil smell running this set up on a street car as well.
Personally I prefer a catch can set up for something that you're going to drive, if it's strictly for track use or you don't mind a little oil in the engine bay then I would go with the open breathers. Definitely fixes the problem.
