Install time is Worlds of difference between the two kits, the PL is far less time and hassle IMO.

The two above points would be the major culprit in the decision process for me that's for sure. The extra install money spent on twins could go to a solid ems (fcon or haltech specifically).

both kits have a good rep.. My only experience is with the PL kit and although it was a tight squeeze with all of the pipes, i have yet to hear one rattle or sound come from the kit hitting anything.. I also heat wraped my up pipes, down pipe and crossover pipe so this may help from any thing that might be hitting somewhere. Overall the quality of the kit is very top notch. OP what year is your car?

Considering APS no longer uses Garret turbo chargers, I would recommend the Powerlab kit out of the two.

Here's another option: GTM Twin Turbo System

Tuner kits, along with turn-key packages are available.

If interested, shoot me a PM to iron out the details and pricing.

Says he with the PL kit on his Z....

PL is top notch for sure, Garrett turbos, tial wastegates and BOVs, so much potential HP out the box, Largest diameter piping available on a Z turbo kit... kinda sells itself right?

The noob faq is kind of dated already. NO GTM kit for DE listed. JWT kit has made into the 800's now. Just noticed that it said the powerband is small for that kit, which is inaccurate.

I also was worried about the APS turbo seals/cartridge failures.

Bottom line: for a single, the powerlab kit. For twins, the GTM kit. Not sure the powerlab has been worked out for all model years yet (according to FAQ anyway - perhaps FAQ needs to be updated for that too). GTM already ready to go for the HR + Osiris = great, cost effective 500 whp solution.

EDIT: oops no HR for OP, nm that HR part.

I was leaning APS right before I bought the PL kit. I had seen great results from APS, but I took issue with internal wastegates. I wanted something cutting edge and new and seeing the quality of the PL kit, i opted for that.

Maybe someone can put my qualms to rest today with my single vs twin setup isses:

I am not fully in love with the crossover pipe idea making the distance between header and turbo inconsistant between banks (does this affect performance?). I-6's would feed into a single without need for a crossover pipe (100% correct?). Twin turbos allow equal distance and each turbo at equal distance from the header/manifold.

The wastegate is on crossover pipe, not after a point where both banks' exhausts meet...does that affect performance or longevity or other variables between banks? I know these were questions I should have addressed before I bought the kit...

The point about unequal exhaust length is one of my thoughs aswell?? Any one have any ideas on that?/

im suprised at the voting so far guys? seams like the PL kit has had a good respons from the FI market in a very short time!

One other point is guys my car is RHD and im gonna have to try and find out if the PL kit fits RHD cars?/ The ECU and battery are on the same side as the down pipe on the PL kit and im not sure if the heat will be a big problem??

they make 600+ hp on a built motor. who cares about unequal exhaust lengths. it makes power. but i'd rather have a dual gt35's on the manifolds like SP or SFR kit for just a lil more money

sure PL has good reviews. mount a big turbo on big pipes. its not rocket science. had turbonetics had their heads out their asses, we could had that 6 yrs ago.

just like if vortech could fit a ysi blower on their mount, stupid mustangs could hold our *****.

Pretty much comes down to what you feel like getting man. You can go back and forth till your blue in the face. Just commit to one and you will be happy with the power..
So what if one spools quicker, or one pulls all the way up top. Either way, your going to have a .
Friend of mine has the PL(37R) and loved it. Spooled a little slower than my twins, but was still fast. Clean setup and less stuff to go wrong.
I just past the 20K mark on my twins @10psi, and the only thing I've done is replaced a sweating oil return. Apples to apples..
Do it!!(either one) ha ha
