vortech guys throwing codes...
hey guys ive searched around, just curious to see what codes if any and why people are getting with a vortech setup still on stock injectors and pump, just running 3.12 pulley and tuned with exhaust mods with the ss box and fmu... curious of p0300 ive searched up on it and seems like a misfire code but any info woule be greatly appreciated from people with this situation and why it happend and what they have done to fix...i know its a common code for FI. but didn't think it was for vortech, though it was more of a turbo thing. could this code be in anyway from the actual supercharger kit itself??? or something like plugs, or O2 or something.

not on the car yet, and i just sold my turbonetics kit due to i don't wanna have these problems to get a vortech kit, but ive been searching around and reading about some vortech guys running into problems with throwing codes, so id just like some more info. on this and exactly why.... guy i was talking to was throwing p0300 and said it was due to his test pipes with defoulers and thesecondary O2's werent warming properly throwing the code...just wanted to make sure this code isn't a problem with the actual kit and is something else
thanks for the reply's guys... just wanna know what im gonna run into with the vortech, which i basically chose to avoid having codes and problems with inspection time
Did you already buy? Anyway, regarding the codes, there is only one way that I know to get rid of the P300 or other nuissance codes and that is to have a place like Forged, flash the ecu to get rid of these codes.
It is the only way to have a sure fire fix. The P300 is basically the computer flipping out because of the extra fuel, lol.

i am purchasing monday.. most likely going with a used kit, i won't mention which one but it is a vortech kit, and he had a p0300 code come on so he took the kit off, but the code stayed..even after clearing the computer, so he took his test pipes off which had defoulers which i stated above what was happening and put his stock cats back on the the problem is gone and has not occured since..so i wouldn't say its strictly a FI problem or ecu problem..
Definatively a FI related issue, it to my understanding can't be tuned out. It won't hurt your car either, I ran it for literally 20k miles. If you go with a full stand-alone engine management, I have found that the p300 went away. I am running FCON and no longer have these codes.
i just read some threads also where people were getting this code after doing plenum spacer so idk...but anyway, it wouldn't be a problem with the actual kit itself then right either way..
true true, i am considering running either system i go with with a utec though...im def. leanind for vortech just figured id take some input on the procharger too...thanks for your reply...i am purchasing monday and if anyone has a very nice used kit complete let me know..
after hours and hours of searching, i think i might just go with a brand new tuner kit right now and use a utec to tune it with the 3.12 pulley...couple questions though, could i keep my stock injectors and drop in a walbro 255 and have enough fuel and be able to tune this setup with a utec? should be fine right? then eventually get som injectors and a 2.87 and a new tune..but for now will that all be ok?
