Those mufflers are small. He shouldn't have any clearence issues with the mufflers at all.

 

I am pretty sure that my aps 3" exhaust mufflers are not as big as the evo tt mufflers, infact I am pretty sure the evo tt is one of the biggest on the market.

 

<p><p>Food for thought, if muffler size becomes an issue/problem...</p><p>The JIC titanium muffler used in their 3" single exhaust mounts at a straight angle on both the Z and G. That muffler is fairly compact (yet free flowing) and is available as a universal part. It's also available in a size with a can that has a smaller outer diameter. I have dual JIC titanium mufflers for my custom 3" exhaust. Mike &amp; Terry... If they sound the same why dont more people do thier own custom exhausts? Wouldnt it be cheaper to get some mandrel bent 3" pipes then buying some of these insanily priced exhuasts??

I am assuming that you have the NACA ducts mounted in the reverse direction in an attempt to flow air out from the underbody. You should check out the following link, go to the bottom of the page and read the paragraph starting with "update, 2006".

Waiting for the body shop to get my rear bumper on so that we can test fit the diffuser.

I have a really nice concept worked out. We could use the MasterGrades diffuser and add another piece of CF to extend it to where it needs to go, but the cleaner way to do it is to make a custom piece. That is what I need to talk to Eric about. Alot of other guys seem to be interested in this. Maybe we can work out a group buy to make it worth his while.

I called Eric and PM'd him last week about discussing extending the rear diffuser, but I haven't heard back from him.

do u also intend to do the middle diffuser ? then maybe we can connected to the front diffuser (TOP-SECRET,ARC,AMUSE...etc). also when/if u gona extend the rear TS diffuser u going to add duct in the extended part or not

Our plans are to do a complete underbody from front to rear, much like that shown in the picture. We have kicked around some ideas for the front diffuser. With the 350Z's, there are some very nice off the shelf options, but from what we have found, this is not so with the G35's. We will focus on the front diffuser more after we get the rear diffuser worked out.

I have already had my exhaust system ceramic coated to keep the heat going out the exhaust pipe instead of heating up the enclosed area. Nonetheless, we are planning on using NACA ducts to get some air flow through that area. Specifically, I'm leaning toward having one or two NACA ducts that flow air onto the transmission, a NACA duct down the middle to flow air on the exhaust mid-pipes, and a NACA duct to flow air onto the rear differential.

Of course, we need a way for the air to escape. That will depend on the final rear-diffuser/bumper configuration. Rather than using NACA ducts, I would like to provide an exit for that air flow through the rear bumber. Once we have the rear diffuser nailed down, then we can look at our best options for that.

 

I agree....One piece diffuser that goes from bumper to the GT-Spec.....To have to add an extra piece may cause issues at high speeds.....I rather one piece system.

 

lol, glad to see mastergrade is using a pic of my car since I was the first to mount it on a G lol. I'm sure glad they asked permission from me to use it....

I'll be adding a front and rear under panel to connect the diffuser and air damn for the front as well later this year. I'm chose aluminum for my underpanels because you won't save that much weight using cf for it to be any where near cost effective. Pretty much all of the track guys use aluminum of some kind of sheet metal for their underpanels and diffusers. Even the hardcore track elise/exige guys use aluminum over cf. There are a number of DIYs on a number of the track forums to do your own CF diffusers, underpanels, and splitters if you search as well.

XKR and ttg35fort will have no problem with fitting their exhausts. Even the AAM dual will fit with this diffuser if my exhaust does lol. The only thing that will have to be adjusted will be cutting a larger opening from the pipes on the forward side on the diffuser. Definitely have brackets made for the aft of the diffuser.
