water injection nozzle installed pre MAF. who has done it?
He's right that it will make your maf read very wrong.
They're pretty robust and designed to survive quite a bit of abuse, but injecting liquid in front of it is a VERY bad idea. Pre-compressor injection is a different story because the compressor vaporizes the liquid completely (or if it doesn't, anything that isn't vaporized drops out in the intercooler). The mustang guys have been doing this for decades (as I'm sure Rodney told you).

Seriously, thank you for the explanation. All the more reason to make sure the spray is a fine mist. I'm still going to try it out but I'll make sure to have a backup maf on hand just in case.
I appreciate the offer B. Two things; A. I can't let you send me this sensor for nothing and 2. the maf is a rather delicate sensor as I understand it. Don't know if that's true as I've never had an issue with one. Where did it come from, how old is it and how was it handled?
You got a meth kit then? Cool. Pun intended. I remember Randy saying something about installing the injector in the center of the bolt or some **** like that? I don't know. He spoke so fast and some of what he said was simply over my head. Like I said before, I wish he didn't waste his breath on me and my limited knowledge. Oh well. Hopefully you got a kit from pro-meth or someone that's down with pre-compressor injection, assuming your going that route, so you can get support.

I'm just messing with you ... let me know if/when you need it. It came off my car, I deleted mine and spliced in a temp sensor. It's been in a box, in a box for like 3 years.
I'm gonna do what CUX did and put it in the head of the filter ... these filters are on their way out so I dont mind sorta-ruining them.
It the AEM kit ... I think I'm good, a few really smart people have helped me thus far. I'll update my thread with progress.

Damn this 350z site is such a pita concerning pic posting. I've found several individuals that say water injection pre-maf is doable and been done successfully. Three of them are manufacturers. Don't mean to sound like a diiiiiiiiiiick but I think there's advice here, though I'm sure well intended, that is based on what some think they know. Everyone's is absolutely convinced of something until they're proven wrong. I have yet to prove anyone wrong and that's not my intention, well, at least not for the sake of it. Unlike many guys out there, I will follow through and draw a conclusion to this on this thread.

Fa sho, fa sho mr. modorato. Still, forums are often littered with too many answers, few having true knowledge gained via experience, merely hypothesizing at best or at worst, regurgitating incorrect information gained elsewhere. Misinformation serves to constrain the lesser man but me, I kicks it in the nutz!
