If you are going out the top, trans has to be off. If you are going out the bottom or front, no reason to bother taking the trans off in the car.

just take your time, pull off the front stuff and start disconnecting everything. Leave the tranny bolted up and yank it out. I disconnected the power steering hard lines running across the front crossmember or they would have got crushed. Get a good 6 point "flare nut wrench" 12mm for them. They are tight. I ran out of time but ill post more pics as I get everything organized.

Those are mostly proprietary to Greddy, never seen anyone else use them. The good news is they will out last your car. Just scrub them off with scotchbrite and reuse them.

Kamak sells gasket kits for MHI/greddy turbos ($9.50):

They also sell all kinds of upgrade stuff, better thrust bearings (similar to Holset), billet bolt-in compressors, etc.

They are just stainless shims, they have no stopper beads or anything like that... nothing wears out. A cleaning is all they need, I have reused them several times over for years, never had a leak.

sweet. I was missing one so I really didnt have a choice. Pisses me off these companies that charge as much for shipping as the part costs.

Oh that makes sense then. You would be surprised what shipping costs. Only USPS is inexpensive but they are extremely inconvenient to deal with for the shipper. We only use USPS for international because the cost savings is extreme... but for stuff inside the US we try to avoid it because its a hassle. Residential delivery through FedEx and UPS has gone way up the last few years and I would expect around $12-13 or so to ship a small box with that gasket to your house. $7-8 for commercial address. Then you have the fact that the website shipping calculators are never dead on, gives you a few bucks of error right there.
