YSI! Ya Baby.......

Did you know Vortech now makes a V7-YSi-B ? ( Billet Impeller )

The specs are not out yet and Vortech is saying very little, but based on what i've heard it's good for about 1800-1850cfm and 3-4 more psi.....

Most drag guys that push the YSi or YSI-b very hard, run them well past 72,000rpm.

Yes, resmarted has been persuading me to check out the billet ysi.

And my current cog/pulley setup is sitting me right at 65k on impeller speed. That's what the ysi is rated to on max impeller speed. I plan on trying that. I want to change out my fluid dampr crank pulley to ati and go with a 3.12 coated pulley. I also plan to send my 2.87 pulley to carbonite.com.

Well it can handle 70-72,000 no problem. So in this area.

At the Drag Strip I would push it harder.

Keep in mind that the V7 gear ratio is 3.45:1 vs the V2's 3.61. So with the same pulley setup the V7 will turn about 4.43% slower. So your 65k would be more like 62k. So having the larger ATI crank pulley is the way to go.

If I remember right, the 2 guys I have seen on here that had the YSI with bracing and the extra idler pulleys were still slipping belts like crazy and warping the plate it was bolted too. Should be a beast though, the coated pulley will most definitely help for sure.

Ya, the one guy with a YSI that I know of is 350z006. He has a 6 rib setup with a TimRod Radius Rod Kit and has made 26psi with no slip.

Cleaned up the oil pan and resealed it. Changed filters, haven't checked it for any metal yet, but cranked it up and let it run a few minutes and drained the oil. Used a filter over the oil pan and didn't pick any metal up. Seemed clean. Put new oil in again and let it warm up again. Hit it with some revs and she sounds healthy just as before. Will do another oil change this week and hopefully I'll be fine. Think I may have lucked out.

Now if I can just get this other vortech sold, I'll order my next blower. Have a ton of interest in it.

If I can keep making power up high with this cosworth, I'll let it rev up higher than what I have it out now, and that should make it close to the 65k limit of the impeller. I'll see how this current setup goes first. If I get a ton of slip even after coating the pulley, I change to the ati crank pulley with a coated 3.12 and that should help out even more.

Went to no prep drag race event to watch and ended up running the z on street tires. I threw on the sci blower. See 16psi. Went 8.0 three times in a row at 94mph. 2.0 60ft each time. Pretty consistent, lol still waiting for this v3 kit to sell to get that ysi.

Well my kit finally sold tonight. Trying to figure out what to do next. Wanting to go ysi next and see how that goes. Another part of me wants to get another ti trim, coat the 2.87 pulley, add the ati crank pulley, and see what it does with a 100 shot on top. I'm trying to make 600+ on the blower setup and mid 700s with some nitrous involved. I'm just worried that the ysi on a 6 rib might be a waste. I've made 22-24psi regularly on the current setup, just never returned to see if the cosworth carried power past 6400 due to this blower eating a belt. If the cosworth is as good as it's supposed to be, I'll be well into the 600s with out issue. Decisions decisions..

Ninja Turbo? Does that mean it just comes out of no where and smacks you in the face with POWER?
