That TQ is right where I expected it. The Vortech seems to put out about 100 less ft/lbs than rwhp. That's about the average I've seen. And as far as the gears, I've already bought the entire pumpkin. So it's not a big deal to swap it back if its too much gear. They are both factory LSD, so ill eventually add a Quaife to whichever ratio I like the best. I can only speculate until I actually try both.
Perhaps on autos. Great numbers either way! Bet its a blast to drive. Wicked flames!
Update: Car runs great. Just dropped it off for the first S/C oil change, a checkup, and a couple of upgrades. Should probably test the limitations of the stock transmission soon.
-Cog pulleys sized to change the Vortech SCi RPMs from 49K to 56K.
-Turbosmart Dualport BPV.
-AEM Progressive Meth Controller.
-Burnt Orange Powdercoat Willwoods. (Backed out...Staying Red)
-JTran Retune.
Car runs great. I've had a lot of fun so far. Looking forward to driving it again.
Well, yes and no. S/Cs like short gears because boost is RPM-based unlike turbos, which are load/exhaust velocity-based. By having shorter gears, you get the S/C into peak boost more quickly. That's a good thing in 3rd-6th, but can cause problems in 1st/2nd without sticky tires. Short gears with a turbo are a horrible idea, though.
