Yea - in general idle is weird without an ecu that can correct for it and/or not having an idle air control valve...my biggest thing was the haltech would drop down to 600rpm and then bounce back up...doing that over and over and over, over 8years may not have been the best for the engine longevity. It can be something the tuner works on. definitely in for results!

(by no means am I taking away or coming off critical) I would look into hood dampers. I bought an unbranded set off Amazon for $80 and it cleaned up the engine bay and made raising & lowering the hood much easier/cleaner.
Thanks, its not that impressive just regular Iphone picture editing, And i think getting idle to settle perfectly is beyond my tuning ability, so i will wait till Soho fixes it. I dont drive this z much as i use my truck to go to work mostly. Thanks for the advice on the hood dampers. Havent considered it but it will be on my to-do list.

Thanks Bigblue, its as good as its gonna get till tuning, hoping for ok results minus not having the CJM Twin pump, but im praying the KB BAP with the 21v booster will give enough fuel flow for the YSi.

For what it's worth - I too drilled a hole in my TB butterfly valve ... but it may a last resort if soho cant nab it.

Just so i know for reference, what size bit was used to drill the hole? Does it matter where the hole is?

Reason i dont want to drill it is because this is a discontinued 72mm 350EVO Throttle body and i dont want to mess it up. I have an OEM one in the garage but dont see myself swapping it out to just fix my idle.

Mine is a 3/16" and it's arbitrarily in the middle of the top half.

Are there two mounting screws in the throttle body that hold the circular disk in place? Maybe try to it by taking one of those screws out and see how it reacts...I dont blame you for not wanting to drill.

Honestly, I'm too scared to drill a hole in the NWP 75MM. Damn TBs are expensive.

Is your idle weird as well with your Vortech?

I did some more logging and made some changes to my idle, im at 1050rpm And its pretty steady, however when i slow down to a stop and release my clutch out of gear, my rpm's raise and hover to 1600rpm for like 3 seconds then settle down back to 1050rpm. Its soo weird.

It was with the uprev.

With the Link StandAlone my idle is perfect so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

ditto - my idle was ironed out when I went to link. I think the haltech standalone has this feature as well.

Thanks for everyones suggestions and responses. Went in on the tune again to fix idle and drivability (unless you go on partial to half throttle these injectors wont even pulse, so drivability in stop and go is a definite pain).

I figured out that these injectors like to idle somewhat rich. Between .80-86 lambda was my sweetspot at a now 1250rpm idle. Reduced my KMulti from 9950 to 9076, Injector minimum to .90 @ 14v, cylinder trim on all cylinders to 91.41%.

Idle no longer raises higher and hangs after clutch releases. Not sure exactly which of the changes above effected it.

Starting over at 100 Fuel compensation, and reduing the entire table again now. Still learning tuning but im definilty happy i even as a novice that i can somewhat calibrate bigass 210lb bosches and drive around ok in them by myself.

not that tuning is easy but (IMO) the best way to introduce yourself is dive right in and tinker around and make small changes to the fuel and ignition and see how the engine reacts. Right on about the idle too!

Ohh i know its not easy. The amount of man hours ive put into this car on the tune alone is insane. But im driven to learn this on my own as a DIYer. Lots of reading, lots of research and lots of hands on time consumed. Glad my wife understands haha

Update on the car, my Dyno Tune is locked in on the third of Jan at National Speed in NC. Soho didnt have a date open when I wanted it done so sourced this shop, no fault to them as they were nothing but supportive. Super excited. Will post as much pictures and videos as I can when im there.

The only thing holding my car is a dyno tune as well. My Tuner recently bought an AWD loaded dyno, but he didn't prepare for a dedicated air compressor for it.

Right now it's just a waiting game. I told him specifically to make my car a low priority since I'm in no rush. (mainly trying to source out places for a roll cage)

Found an old excel document on the web and modified it to show the impeller speed per RPM instead of the Vortech site calculator which just shows the max. Another tool to use with the compressor map on each trim to find out how efficient it will be. Merry Xmas.

Unfortunately that will be finding out your engines Displacement, engine CC demand per RPM
Volumetric Efficency of engine per rpm and Supercharger Impeller efficency. Lots of math.

I did this a while back, easy for me my info is on his page about the efficency rate of the YSi. Estimated 23psi at 7k RPM (58k impeller speed which is 87/100 from max rate of the V7). Most CFM i will see with my pulley setup is calculated at 1394 at 7k.

For you with the V3 SCi + 928 Billet impeller, i would add 10-15 percent value per rpm since thats what They claim on their site as gains from the stock SCi impeller.

It does not take into account intercooler efficiency and restrictive piping/exhaust. This is why its an estimate. Hope the article helps.
