You guys are missing the point. The companies that charge 5+ grand for an ITB are overcharging, alot! They could do that cause there the only ones to have it.

But I dont think the gains will be anything like those of F/I. Didnt someone mention maybe 20-30 RWHP or so? You would still be sucking air and not forcing it so I wouldnt expect to see anything that would be a "bang for the buck" mod.

I bet it would sound mean as hell and look awesome!

so do you guys believe there is a real interest in itbs? if the 1s that are looking for a set, i will take that project off the back burner and start on it asap. but if i do this setup, it would have to run throttle cables and you need a standalone. the oem ecu is not capable of using itbs even if it was controlled by tbw. i may experiment with the tbw on itbs also, but of course, the pricing would go up significantly with the tbw itbs.

They first tried to have two TB, but what I'm interested in is having one big DBW TB (i.e 90mm or so). Any input in that area will be appreciated.

As long as its cost effective im sure alot of people will go itb.

Can the utec accomodate the needs of a itb setup?

i doubt that an ITB setup will ever be cost effective. Maybe the actual part could become cheaper. But tuning and what not would make it still seem unappealing to most. In all honesty, a drive-by-wire setup would more than likely be more easily maintained than the standard cable setups. however, price would be higher.

a cable setup wouldnt need much maintenance for it. the hard part for it is probably drilling the hole in the fire wall and mounting the brackets to the gas pedal. there is not much maintenance to it. either way both are just as reliable. drive by wire would be more expensive and harder to setup on a standalone. there are only 2 standalones i know of that support dbw. and only 1 is know to work well and correctly with no bugs. so if you go dbw itbs, more than likely you would have to go with motec m800. that would cost quite a bit. im sure the majority of the people that want itbs with dbw dont know the costs and parts that are neccesary for this. the most logical way is to go throttle cable. that would make it much easier on engine management. you could use whatever you wanted instead motec and the hydra. my personal preference would be motec, but mx00 series motecs are not cost effective to the majority of the people. granted, if people looked at the software and what it can do, i believe it is well worth the money. but im getting on another subject. and sorry if i am thread jacking. but i loved that dual throttle bodies you guys did. too bad its not cost effective for you guys to sell it.
