Well, based on what I can remember. The original MREV for the RevUp engines afforded the best results with the 5/16" spacer. Since this is a newer version, it looks that the said is still better optimized with the 5/16" spacer.

Yes. Its simply not possible to dyno every possible configuration.

The 5/16" spacer is the baseline spacer because:
1) It produces the most area under the curve.
2) It costs less
3) It fits under the Z strut bar. (which is a highly desirable trait)
4) There is an order of magnitude more 5/16" spacers installed than there is 1/2" spacers.

I would like to dyno everything but there is only so much myself and a group of So Cal Z/G guys can dyno in a day.

I'm all open to supporting thoes who want to do supplemental dynos.

I guarantee you will eventually see dynos of this with a 1/2" spacer. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I'd be more than happy to dyno test a free mrev++ on my 1/2'' spacer ^_^

Waiting to see dyno charts...

Tony, can you confirm that the upcoming group buy on the modified lower collector will be at the previous price of $122 w/ core exchange, THEN the price will go up?

Yes!

You only pay $122 and shipping with a 287 core exchange.

----------

Before you send your core in, wash it very throughly in a bucket of hot soapy water and a shop rag. Get it completely clean inside and out.
When you send it, it cannot have oil residue on it.

Milling a oily piece of aluminum isn't a problem, but it must also be ground and recontured. The grinding creates a fine dust that will make a nasty mess if even the slightest bit of oil is present. The buffing phase is even more intolerant of oil residue.

So please get it totally clean and dry from all oil residue.

One other important note:
Package your lower collector in a sturdy box with lots of packing. Assume the mail service will drop kick your package from NY to CA... there is a good chance they will damage (or even smash) the collector if its not ridgidly protected.

I know how they treat their packages.

Tony,

I just got my 2003 Track Ed. 350Z used 3 months ago. I believe that I have the 287 motor. The only mods the previous owner has on it that I can tell is a NISMO cold air intake, short-throw shifter and a NISMO cat-back exhaust. Is the GB still open to get the $122 pricing or is it filled now? My Z is my daily driver. Can I get the modified lower collector and what else I would need first then ship my core once my mechanic performs the install? I do not have the 5/16" spacer that I am aware of. How could I verify this? From skimming these 20 pages I'm not sure if I need it or not? Do you take PayPal? PM me off thread if not appropriate here.

Thanks,
Tom

Cool. So when does the GB start? On shipping the core back, I recommend shipping it back in the same packaging the modified one came in (if it's still in good shape). The One I helped GeoFX install came packaged quite well.

I'm in on the GB but... My question is that we only pay $122 and shipping for it to be shipped to us or do you have to ship your lower plenum first? Just wondering because I can't really have a long downtime with work and school.

Now I'm kinda glad I missed out on the group buy of the spacer. I'll for sure be taking part in this group buy.

For those in socal can we drop off and pick up the modified collector in person somewhere to save on shipping costs? Plus, I hate waiting. Just a thought.
