All depend. Single is lighter but also much louder. Dual is nice rumble but more expensive.

Single i think would be alright if you're young with the bumper tuck. Louder but lighter.

I prefer true dual with x pipe, a magnaflow x pipe sounds best IMO.

There are two REAL types of exhaust, single and true dual. Any other dual is just a single pretending that its ***** is bigger.

Go to a show.

Listen to v6's with single.
Listen to v6's with true dual.
If you don't like those sounds for some odd reason, listen to a dual tip.

Agree with the post above me, make sure you search before posting, I've seen this addresses in a few other threads.

Personally id go with true dual for performance. The way I look at it is, why would you want 2 exits from your engine going into 1 outlet. I see it better that your exhaust has an exit for each side, instead of packing 6 cylinders exhaust into one tube.. free it up and get it out with no trouble.

For example, right now I have a bunch of intake mods with no exhaust done yet, when im driving and floor it I can feel that it needs to be freed up because you feel the exhaust is restrictive . I can feel that its not flowing freely enough and is hindering performance. So I would assume a single exhaust would not free it up enough, however I'm sure if you get bigger exhaust valves and a giant single it would work just as well.

True dual isn't that great. You want an X pipe in there or at least an H pipe but those suck.

Since you said popcharger I'm guessing you have a de. Custom 4" intake with 3.5" maf tune, everything else just makes noise with marginal gains. Stock 06 box is pretty efficient as well.

am in the progress of looking for a 3.5" intake with a bigger maf. i say pop charger cause i felt it on my butt dyno. i did have a borla exhaust on prior to the intake. i didnt notice the whistle until my buddy mentioned it. then again it could of been that my old filter was dirty.

So the intake you'd recommend is...? I go by SGsash's build since he is one if the few members to have a dyno on hand to experiment and test, with one of the highest NA whp.

They're all garbage. Quite a few runs showing aftermarket intakes are all noise, and some even show losses over the stock airbox.

My car has one of those on it sans heat shield. Looks like crap, whistles something awful, and there is no way it can be better than the stock box sitting in the engine bay pulling nothing but hot air. I could live with it if it wasn't for the damn whistle. I hate that sound.

Let's face it, Nissan did a nice job engineering the OEM airbox. It's almost a direct shot into the plenum, is built of composite materials that don't heat soak and has the R&D behind it to pull cold air from a less turbulent source. Aftermarket manufacturers have spent plenty of time and money in developing their products, but NOBODY has really had shown many gains (outside of a different engine note), so the answer is, don't waste your money,,,

+1 on all the posts above. To the OP, the best performance would be a set of new, clean filters. You could try K&N's.

if it is metal and in the engine bay, you will have some extent of heat soak
