Not impressed with the Borla exhaust sound
I heard the Borla exhaust note in person and wasnt impressed. First of all its not even much louder then the stock Zs. Has a typical deep sound. Not unique as the Zs. Nissan did a good job of the stock exhaust. The ECU over rides the performance upgrade right? Ive heard the Injen exhaust, that damn thing is loud! Sounds like a sport bike. Not too pretty but loud! I'm still waiting until there is a true gain in hp..

I want to know about the ECU issue as well!?!?
I heard a Borla a few weeks ago...TxStyle...I thought it sounded GREAT. Very deep, powerful sound and slightly understated...I will probably end up with one at some point.

jon, you gotta sit be in the car with the window up inorder to appreciate the borla. i love the exhaust sound at low rmp, really got the muscle feeling. don't know much about hp gain, but i can tell you it sound so much better than stock.
i didn't want something thats really loud anyway, thats why i didn't get the injen, but everyone has his/her own taste.

I have stock exhausts and cats removed. Car sounds very exotic. I ride with the windows down everywhere.
That said, I was also not a fan of the Borla sound, but I did not hear an Injen on an otherwise stock car. The only car with the Injen exhaust that I heard in person was the Smithtown Nissan race car. It also had intake, headers, and cat pipes. SOUNDED MEAN!!!!!!

I love my Borla Dual Sound!!!!!!!
I just swapped my Borla single for my dual and the difference is incredible!!
1000 to 3500 just a bit deeper and tiny bit louder.
Under load after 3500 there is this exotic sound that I cant get enough of. My Borla single did not have this sound!!!!!! I am punching it all over the place just to hear it.
For those of you who say you hate the Borla sound let me ask you this: Have you actually driven in the car? Because the exhaust only makes that sweet sound under load after 3500 RPM. Just being static and revving the engine does not impress me at all but at moving at 4 grand the magic starts. I drove a Ferrari f 355 with a Tubi exhaust recently and this unique Borla sound (under load) is reminiscent of this! NOShizzat!

My Borla dynoed after 200 mile break-in at 6.8 rwhp gain and 6.8 torque gain consistent across the entire power band from 3,500 to redline. If you want to hear 1 minute and 44 seconds of the Borla being driven -- upshifts, downshifts, redline shifts, starts and stops, go to Z Chickz and click on the Garage button, select Borla How To and scroll to the bottom to download the video.

good coverage on the borla
Im not to impressed by the borla sounds and I have heard all the sounds clips for it. Maybe I need to see it in person? I just think nothing can beat the stock "exoticness"

Sounds better on VQ than V8
I dont like the Borla sound on V8 F-body T/A's or Camaros, sounds likeashit. But whatever they do to sound bad on a V8, sounds good when connected to the VQ.
I guess it could be that the VQ's is true duel and the T/A's (what I'v heard) is a y-pipe config.
Of course soon I will have a true opinion when I get mine!

I like the Borla, there is just something preventing me from putting it on my Japanese car. It just doesn't seem right.
I know it's a good exhaust, I just want a Japanese one on my japanese car. You wouldn't catch a meathead dead with a Fujitsubo on his SVT.

Runin resonators
You can always cut off the mufflers and only run w/ resonators. That will definately make the car sound louder and meaner

I have the Borla Duals and when i first got it, it was my first mod. I was happier with the sound but still not satified. I wanted it to sound meaner and louder so everyone could hear the power of it. Anyways, I got the Injen CAI and the Nismo Headers put on. Let's just say, now I'm satisfied. It's louder, deeper, and real powerful. I drive in third going 60 on the freeway at about 4500-5500 rpms with no music just so i can listen to it respond to the gas. Just my opinion. Like mysteriumZ said, to each his own.

i just got my Borla installed yesterday and i really like the sound. it's only a little louder than stock, but now it sounds more like a deep growl. i don't really care for really louds systems. i would rather have people see what i've got during a run than have them hear me. more like a silent attack!
