Tony, do you have the dimensions for that VQ (very quiet) muffler handy? It looks big, but I'm wondering if it has to go at the back or can it be placed midstream?

There is no way it will fit midstream. Its way too big.

Sold the old exhaust today, riding on stock with HFCs ftl lol.

That shockwave exhaust is mine once its released

So essentially you can use test pipes into the XYZ pipe, then attach a MD single catalytic convertor after the XYZ pipe? Could this then be attached to a Nismo mid-pipe and so on? Very interested if so, or different variations can be used.

Yes. Exactly.

It makes it a lot easier to get the best of both. Cats and Test pipes.

And yes, it will bolt right onto the nismo.

Nothing significant on a stock exhaust system. If it was designed to work on a stock system, yes, it could have been done. But it has been designed for higher performance aftermarket exhaust systems.

Much of the design is about optimizing trades.
If it was optimized for performane on a stock exhaust, it would have limited performance when used on a high perfomance system.

Exactly what ive been looking for, please let me/us know when you are putting these to the the market... id be in for the XYZ pipe+catalytic convertor and test pipes if you make your own.

Currently I have an Apexi N1 Evo exhaust with dual exits. This runs from the catback. I have read that this exhaust actually nets surprising gains, which surprised me. I'm just curious if this y-pipe will net me at least a good 5-10rwhp.

Sorry, if your system doesn't use a Y-pipe of any kind, its not compatible.

This will work on a Y-pipe back system or cat backs that use a Y pipe.

Just finished up the first Nismo install if the resonated XYZ.
Fits perfectly.

Sound is mellower and quieter than with the regular Nismo Y pipe.

Test pipes will be installed on it and independantly reviewed today or tomorrow.

Rasp is the big drawback to puting HFC's or test pipes on a Nismo system but we will find out very shortly what the resonated XYZ does to Nismo rasp.

I think this system will save folks a lot of money, instead of changing out the whole exhaust you can change out components as needed. I'm looking forward to hearing more about this.
