The main difference is that the aluminum is made out of aluminum, whereas the stainless steal is stainless steal...

I actually ordered the resonated cat pipes from them today. I spoke with Tony (from FI) at length, and with regards to the polishing...he said that no matter what they are going to turn a "goldish" color over time. but the polished ones will retain a slight shine whereas the non-polished ones will turn dull gold.

You're right, you DON'T know, because you are absolutely 100% incorrect.

Is Lynwood in CA? If so, you can get away with the aluminized steel, though for 40 bucks, I'd always opt for the superior SS material.

Yeah, "aluminized" is coated mild steel. If you live in an area with rough weather (snow/ice, rusty conditions), they won't hold up nearly as well if the coating is breached at all. Stainless is pretty damn solid in an automotive environment.

That is true, but... Whenever I'm underneath my Z, I see LOTS of steel, and don't see any stainless except for what I've put there.

If you want to avoid a patina of rust, then go stainless. However, if you don't care (because is really is only cosmetic) then go with the aluminized steel.

There won't be anything from the oem that is the same quality as generic exhaust pipe. Most factory components are coated with something pretty solid to prevent rust, or are aluminum/plastic. For instance, most truck frames are made of regular steel, but are dipped in a wax like substance to keep them protected reliably.

Agreed though, aluminized exhaust piping is never really that bad, it's fairly cheap compared to stainless, easier to work with, and for all practical purposes works just fine. I've run both type of material in exhaust systems, and never had a problem either way.
