I've got it, tried getting it dealer fixed to no avail as they said they couldn't replicate the problem, so I'm stuck with it. there is another thread about this with some other guys possibly having the same issue, but no fix has been found. it may possibly have to do with the clutch pedal assembly.

Sounds like something's loose.

Why not take it to the dealer? It's free.

yup, they couldnt replicate the problem, usually only hear it on mine when its cold, and from 1st to 2nd. I dont let it bother me anymore, its been a year and a half. Just drive it and have fun.

I've taken it in twice now for the popping clutch. They could not replicate the problem both times. So I had a tech come ride with me and he heard the problem. It was getting late and I didn't want to keep my Z there overnight. So I took it home to go in again another time.

I've had the same problem. Kind of a dull ping/pop sound when you first depress the pedal. It's intermittent though.
