Current/past problems with your Z.

I recieved that the 28th of May... Still no reply...
In addition, has anyone been getting a vibrating/deep rumble when deccelerating in 3rd gear around 3-4k rpm?

My main problem I had with my Touring was the dealer, Eddie Tourelle"s Northpark Nissan of Covington, La. The mechanic took my touring for a joy ride @110mph on a 2 lane hwy, 12 miles away from the dealership, the mechanic is still at work so I guess Eddie Tourelle Northpark Nissan in Covington, La. condones it. I had to pay 2k , to replace my Touring.. and to this day (day 9) I still do not have a car. However my check to Eddie Tourelle"s Northpark Nissan of Covington, La. has been cashed. If any Z owners would like to contact Eddie Tourelle Northpark Nissan in Covington, La. their Toll Free # is 1-888-350-0079.

The Z has 5,4000 miles on it and the only problem has been a slight window streak on the dirver's side. Based on what I read on these boards I guess I am one of the lucky ones, at least so far.
MSCHOEN2U,
Can you be a little more specific about your situation?
Why was the mechanic driving your car and how do you know he was driving it at 110 mph? Also, what happened to your old Z and why are you getting a new Z for 2K?

In my first post, the driver was clocked by a sheriff @ 110 in a 55. more than 13 miles from the deealership. The driver told the cop he was test driving the auto. The mechanic went to jail and the car was towed back to the dealer. The car was scheduled to be painted that day.
So based on the number of members of this site about 3% have had some type of problem with their Z. That would include a large number of members that came to this site because they had a problem and were looking for answers, which is normal for the internet. Logic would indicate that in the real world about 1-2% of owners of Z cars have problems or realize that they have a problem. Sounds better than most cars. I just hope I am not part of the 1 or 2% that have a problem. If I am I look forward to you guys coming up with the help I need to get it fixed.

Boomer, figured that anyone that took the time to sign up and then had a problem would be mad enough about having a problem that they would post. I know this is not scientific but the way I came up with the % seem like good logic. At least it makes me feel better since my Z only has 600 miles on it and I am hoping I don't have any problems. I'm in denial

I'm thinking I might just let the fronts go to **** and then let the dealer do the alignment and replace the front tires under warranty. I love to make big companies pay for their screwups. Seems like the only way they ever learn.

I'm starting to hate my car. I've had problems with it dying while driving around, pulling to the right (which they fixed once, now doing it again) window grease, they replaced brake components for the brakes feeling low, cubby hole lid won't shut, a button fell off my rearview mirror, and transmission feels notchy in 2nd gear.

Sorry to hear you have had so many probs with your Z. I too feel your pain. I have had the creaking noise in the rear axle, grease streaks, tires cupping, shift **** center piece fall off and A/C unit replaced.
Your problem of: "dying while driving around" is now a Recall issue with 1.5 million Nissan cars if you have not already heard. 20 different models between the years of '02 - '03.
Your tranny feeling "notchy in 2nd gear" is a problem a few of the people I am in touch with over the "tire cupping issue" (42 - 350Z owners) have said the tranny should be replaced. I would call NNA and have them replce your tranny.
Ian
Got 2 new trannys replaced.
My car is making a very annoying noise due to tire cupping or feathering. Especially when I am braking

ssk0771 -
Your tires are cupping! It has been a known issue for over a year now and Nissan has been draging their feet to get us 350Z owners a final solution to this issue. They are in denial about the issue, even though I personally am in contact with over 50 - 350Z owners with this exact problem. It is a design flaw in the suspension. I believe it is due to improper Caster angels on the front end.
Many of us 350Z owners are faxing a letter to Nissan this Friday in protest to Nissan's poor handeling of this issue. If you would like to participate send me an email at mindfullivin@yahoo.com and I will send you a pdf file of the letter, so you can print it out, sign it and fax it in to Nissan this Friday. We are starting at 9am PST.
