passenger window going down by itself *all the way when Im not around*
I know very well about the infamous window issues and fixes, but this one is quite ridiculous. I had the problem with my drivers side window about 6 months ago where the window would go down 1/3 when putting it up on auto but i took the door apart and did the reset switch and thats fixed now. Today I went to my friends house and go out to my car 2 hours later and my passenger window is ALL the way down! This is kinda scary and im hoping it was a 1 time thing, if not I'm wondering if any of u had this happen and if the reset button on the passenger door would fix the issue.......advice?

that happened to me three times and it freaked me out. After it happened I had the issue with the motor where it would go 1/3 of the way down so I took it into Nissan.
After they fixed that, I never had the problem again where it would be all the way down when I woke up in the morning.

I had this problem too.... it happened to both the passenger and driver side windows .... within a few months of each other. Ater a few days of this happening the windows would not work at all. I had both motors replaced under warranty.

i was test driving a z today and i noticed that when i put the window up using the "auto lock" it went up all the way and came back down to about 1/2 open.
is that a bad motor?
and whats the fix for it (link to thread hopefully)
its also got the pads by the knees (i think that means 04.5)

I talked to nissan about an update in motors. It seems that every year uses the same replacement motor.
That said, motors from different years should work just fine. A new motor from the stealership can not be cheap.

note that this thread is for cleaning the window motor brushes which works...for a few weeks then the motor usually fails again. However, the pictures and instructions in this thread are very helpful for replacing the window motor.

Plus the good news is, Autozone has a lifetime warranty on the window motor, so $130 bucks and you are set for life.
Mine has just started the 1/3 rolldown feature too, but it happens immediately so I can catch it. I would freak if I came out to my car to find out it had rolled all the way down on it's own.
I guess I will never leave anything valuable in it again!
