Original battery went dead tonight after 65 months. Considering how long the OEM battery lasted I will get another Nissan battery.

UPDATE: Made several calls to find a battery. The most unfriendly, unhelpful and obnoxious person that I spoke with was, you guessed it, the parts guy at Nissan.

Went with Duralast Gold 35-DLG.

BTW for those shopping for a battery here are some test results from CR.

Had the original battery since June of 2003. I really should replace it before I get stuck somewhere.

Nissan will replace OEM battery replacements free of charge for life as per the owners manual

It's a good idea to get an OEM replacement.

Unfortunately you cant, the factory Nissan battery is a Japanese made Panasonic or Yuasa unit (depends on year), these are not available at the Nissan dealer, the Nissan dealer ones are OE spec replacements but they are made by Johnson Controls for Nissan, they dont quite last as long as the Panasonic units.

Im not sure if that is true, batteries are typically 2 year free replacement and there after is prorated for the remaining 5 years.

I was told that my battery was dying which is why my airbag light kept coming up but I had the battery checked. I'm going to hold off because I really don't want to spend 180 for a yellow to right now. 2003, 92K, battery was checked and is still running strong. knock on wood.

I still have the original battery in my 2004 Roadster, which I bought in July 2004. But I only have about 28,900 miles on the car.

'03 performance w/55,000 miles

I've had slow starts lately and then this morning I almost got stuck getting breakfast. Luckily there was a parts store 1 block away. Got the optima yellow top. Now, literally all I have to do is bump the key! Props to the original battery though. It's a fighter.

I just placed an order online as a precaution. I am sure it is about time I do change them.

OEM battery from 2003. Just replacement it today. The OEM battery didn't die, it was just slowly loosing its charge (but still crankable). Lets see how long the replacement Diehard Gold will last.
