Default Whining Noise??

I have an 04 automatic Z. When I accelerate from zero or very low speeds I here a whining noise that gets louder until I let off the gas. It doesn't occur when I accelerate when I am already up to speed.

Any Ideas on what it is?

The car is all stock, but has the Bose system. The noise souds like it is coming from the front of the car.

hmm subtract my input then. sounds like a diff noise but since its coming from the front, scratch that too. i had a 2003 AT but no whine noises, just the standard clicking from the rear suspension. gl with it

if its kinda soft, it could just be the intakes..

or you have a supercharger you don't know about installed.

Girlfriend?

Check things like alternator, p/s pump, etc. Hopefully NOT tranny - but check all fluids to make sure they are at proper level. Make sure belts are in good shape too.

Good Luck.

it could be the alternator. If the whining gets higher in pitch when your acclelerate then it could be the bearings inside the alternator or bad rectifier assembly (diodes).
