Horrible squealing drive belts
Ok so I've had a problem with my belts squealing for a while now, they used to just do it when it was very cold and for the first 5 mins..
Then I had it taken into my shop where they tightened the belts.. This was during the winter last year. Everything was fine over the summer because it was warm. Now it's starting to get cold in Illinois again, and they're right back at it. This time I took it in, had the belts replaced, cost me 90 bucks. Next day I go to start it up again and it's right back at it again, possibly even worse than before. Especially due to the fact that its not even cold today, it's 70, and it never did it when it was warm before.
Some details of the sound and problem:
Starts as soon as I start the car
It changes with rpm speed, as I rev it, it becomes faster.
Sound is coming from left side of engine bay, (passenger)
06 MT 192k miles 52k on engine
Sound will go away completely after about 10 mins of driving
It goes away as if the rpm needed to make it squeal slowly increases over time, till its gone completely.
In other words, at first start it will make the noise at idle, after 3 mins of driving, only above 1500 rpm, after 6 mins above 2500, after 8 above 3000... Until its gone completely.
Thanks for any input you guys can give, I really am getting very sick of this problem, and don't want to keep bringing it back to the shop.
Also, The belts are definetely tight enough.

As dkmura states, your belts are definitely slipping.
And the problem may be as dcains explains:
You need to replace your belts.

Coolant? I haven't put any type of belt dressing on if that's what you mean. I will also try to find out the proper torque specs for the bolts, although I would of expected the shop to do the same. The belts feel plenty tight to the touch though.

If coolant (ie. antifreeze) gets on the belts, it can also cause a problem. But it sounds as if you don't understand how the belts are properly tensioned.
Going off the instructions in the FSM, torque specs won't help in determining tension for the drive belts. Torque specs will help maintain the settings of the bottom pulley is all. The FSM specifies a certain amount of deflection for the belts, so you should really refer to it to fully understand how the replacement works. If they're really "plenty tight to the touch", then making them too tight will also degrade the rubber belts and cause another problem down the road.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to an Unorthodox pulley kit. Almost exactly as described when squealing. I tighten, loosen, replaced, replaced.... had a shop look at it twice.... never went away. I narrowed the noise coming from the alternator pulley. I presume the noise was caused when removed the alternator to reach the pulley. When placing alternator back it had some free play in order to properly align the alternator bolts to the block. I think misaligning the alternator by even a fraction would cause the belt to rub against the alum. pulley and cause a squeal.
I would check to see if your alternator is securely bolted on... other than that, I feel your pain.

I didnt hear anybody mention the possibility of a failing accessory pulley bearing. Ask your mechanic if he checked all the accessories for play (both lateral and axial), bearing resistance, grinding, etc. If one is slowly seizing up on you it could give you these problems.
To be honest with you I never had the problem corrected. I dealt with it for a couple of years until my engine went up in flames from the triple turbo install pushing 2000 HP to the wheels... or maybe it was just a broken fuel line. In either case, I had narrowed it downed to the alternator pulley, but never really went after it before it was a complete loss to fire. GL
Are both belts squealing ?
Are you loosening the bolt in the center of the pulley . . . . then tightening the adjuster bolt . . . and then re-tightening the bolt in the center of the pulley?
